kdcoltred Ballot for 2016 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 6, 2016, 11:35 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Honorable Mentions: Oregon, Duke, LSU, North Carolina, and Texas A&M. A poll that is half playoff projection and half "who do I think can you beat right now?"

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Hide yo coaches, hide yo nuts. Joey Freshwater goin' come after all of them.
Florida State Seminoles Second half FSU skrong tho
Ohio State Buckeyes Turtle "B-Button" Samuel for Heisman
Michigan Wolverines I like Peppers on my Taco.
TCU Horned Frogs This will derail very quickly if Arkansas wins next week but I'm going bold, TCU wins the Big 12 circus because Patterson is magical
Clemson Tigers Showed signs of 2014 Florida State and 2015 Ohio State, except they didn't win a title. Only two gamest are going to matter on their schedule moving forward, and I'm not sure if they'll win either or both (Louisville, @ Florida State). Plenty of time to prove they can get a defense and special teams
Stanford Cardinal If Christian McCaffrey gets injured, Stanford is probably an 8-9 win football team. Until he is, they'll be just fine.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Dark Horse for the Big 12 Champion
Louisville Cardinals Count me in on the Louisville hype train
Houston Cougars Great win over Oklahoma at home, but I don't think their schedule is good enough to replicate a Power 5 slate. Unless they dominate and the stars align, they'll peak around Top 5 or Top 6 and be left out of the playoff. Expectations will probably exceed their performance going forward.
Michigan State Spartans This ranking is purely based on the coaching and developmental ability of Mark Dantonio. Easily one of the best coaches in the country and right there with Urban Meyer as best in the Big Ten. Sorry Harbaugh, scoreboard matters.
Texas Tech Red Raiders RIP Tortillas
Georgia Bulldogs Remember Nick Chubb? You will.
Ole Miss Rebels Hung around with FSU until the Seminoles woke up, can still put a scare in any SEC team this year
Oklahoma Sooners Losing on the road at Houston is not as huge of an upset as it's made out to be. While the result is somewhat surprising, the game being competitive wasn't. People have forgotten the losses on defense for the Sooners. That being said, don't write them off to re-rack by knocking off Ohio State in two weeks. OSU may be a better version of Houston, but never underestimate the advantage an early season home game provides.
Miami Hurricanes The U is going to ruin somebody's season this year. Or have theirs ruined by someone they shouldn't.
Baylor Bears Big 12 is wide open, and Baylor hasn't skipped a beat yet.
Florida Gators Defense wins championships. That's all Florida needs to stay relevant.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Losing in 2OT on the road at Texas is not a shameful loss. Notre Dame has the talent to rebound and contend for a NY6 Bowl. But please, just stick with DeShone Kizer and let Malik Zaire transfer. It's a disservice to both of them to play the quarterback carousel. Take it from an Ohio State follower, two quarterback systems don't work.
Nebraska Cornhuskers The winner of Oregon vs Nebraska belongs here. I have Nebraska winning it, so they hold this spot until proven otherwise.
Washington Huskies Beat a rebuilding power 5 team at home, cautiously optimistic so far
Wisconsin Badgers Great win over LSU, now let's see the Badgers beat teams with more than a one-dimensional offense.
Texas Longhorns Great win for Texas, but they need to prove they don't just play to the level of their opponent. I'm prepared to move them up significantly if they dispel that notion in the next few weeks, specifically after playing @Cal.
Boise State Broncos Relatively easy schedule, should win a lot of games this year
Kansas Jayhawks ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK COMIN' FOR YO TITLES
