Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Easiest pick of them all |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | Ohio State just looks good. I don't care who your opponent is, some of the plays they made were just athletically impressive. JT Barrett was going off. |
| Michigan Wolverines | I've got high hopes for Michigan and I definitely look forward to having them face tougher opponents. |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson...struggled, almost. I still question the coaching, but there was just something about Watson that didn't feel like I was watching some super star again. Maybe I'm just used to it or maybe there were plenty other incredible players who played before his Saturday night game, but all in all I felt they should have performed better against Auburn.  |
| Houston Cougars | Going into the Houston-Oklahoma game, I had a bet on Houston with the point spread. I didn't actually think they'd win, but I didn't think they'd lose by more than a field goal. Another team that plays impressive football. |
| Stanford Cardinal | Stanford is always good and Christian is just on another level, but they weren't as dominant as I would have liked. Granted, Kansas State wasn't and isn't a bad team, but I still had higher expectations and felt like I didn't get my fix of Stanford football. |
| Florida State Seminoles | Damn, did that fresh QB settle in or what? |
| Washington Huskies | I was at the Terps game for most of the Huskies' rout of Rutgers but I was getting a lot of scoring notifications from these guys.  |
| Michigan State Spartans | MSU struggled against Furman. WTF? They seriously do play to the level of their competition and I hope they can break out of it. Unless it's against Maryland. But still, I think they are able to battle with the worst and battle with the best. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | I have been far on the A&M hype train since before the season started and I have high hopes for them. If theres one thing I learned this weekend: Don't drop your iPhone or the A&M defense will be there ready to intercept it. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | So bitter sweet. I knew they were one of the top 3 (if I'm not mistaken) defenses last year, but holy cow did they make LSU look silly. I think that game was more helpful to Wisconsin than it was hurtful to LSU |
| Baylor Bears | Baylor scored a lot and often. :D |
| Louisville Cardinals | Louisville played Charlotte and scored a metric shitton. Charlotte isn't the best, but still, that's a lot of points. |
| Texas Longhorns | UT. God I love when Notre Dame comes across as overrated. 18 WHEELERRRRR |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Okay, I thought UNC was going to come out on top of Georgia and it was a great game, but I'm still skeptical about UGA. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | Destroyed on both offense and defense. |
| Oregon Ducks | UC Davis fought for a bit, but the Ducks still looked strong.  |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | Iowa, Iowa, Iowa. They still have to earn my respect to be higher in the polls. |
| TCU Horned Frogs | TCU put up 50 whatever points but they also gave up 40 or so and that doesn't convince me one bit their defense will be able to keep games against better competition close. |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Quite honestly, that was one of the most ugliest victories I've seen. App St played terribly: awful play calling and clock management down the stretch and Tennessee hardly pulled it off. Only strengthens my skepticism. They have a lot of room for improvement and can for sure make a good run. There's soooooooo much time left. |
| Miami Hurricanes | Routed Florida A&M. It's hard to keep a team out of the End zone, seriously, I don't care who it is.  |
| Florida Gators | Wasn't impressed with their performance against UMass. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | Hehe. |
| Ole Miss Rebels | I really question Ole Miss' abilities, but I don't think a loss to FSU is bad by any means or standards: they just did not look good in the second half. What was it, -7 yards in the 3rd quarter? |
| LSU Tigers | I still have some hope for LSU. It's all going to be on Fournette's shoulders though.  |
