Overall Rationale: This preseason poll is predicting my computer poll's 2016 final rankings based on a linear regression using last year's final ranking, Phil Steele's returning experience chart, and the last five years of 247 composite recruiting rankings. It is crude and includes a lot of rankings that surprise me, but it is not meant as a snapshot of where these teams stand at right now. It is a prediction of where they will finish based on very limited information. It will be completely discarded as soon as the first full week of games has taken place.
