TheUltimate721 Ballot for 2026 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 4, 2026, 4:14 p.m.

Overall Rationale: While the SEC is undoubtedly having a great season, I feel like they only have 3 playoff teams compared to years past when they got 4 or 5. There are three true contenders with Georgia, Texas and Alabama, and then a HUGE drop after for the tier with LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Miss State, and Mizzou.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs
Texas Longhorns
Indiana Hoosiers
Ohio State Buckeyes Jeremiath Smith should be frontrunner for Heisman and I don't think it should be particularly close either.
Miami Hurricanes The Wake Forest win looks way better in hindsight, but I still want to see more from them. That Notre Dame game is the one to circle.
Alabama Crimson Tide This is Kalen Daboer's best team at Alabama and I don't think it's particularly close. I just don't really see a lot of weaknesses with this Alabama team.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish The AP poll continues to criminally over-rank the Irish to this point. With a weak strength of schedule the best way to judge them is against the spread, and they fall to 3-2 against the spread with their performance against North Carolina.
BYU Cougars
LSU Tigers
Oregon Ducks
Utah Utes
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Tennessee Volunteers
Ole Miss Rebels Frankly the Florida result this week kind of re-contextualizes a lot of their earlier games. I don't think this team has the defense to compete at the high level, as brilliant as Chambliss is.
Missouri Tigers
Boise State Broncos
Florida Gators So much for the Florida run game hype. 2.3 yards per carry against Missouri isn't going to cut it. That defensive performance was pretty embarassing too. Austin Simmons looked like Cam Newton against them.
Mississippi State Bulldogs The season is not done for MSU, but that was quite a disheartening result. They will have more opportunities.
North Dakota State Bison
UCLA Bruins
Nebraska Cornhuskers I am going to partially excuse the attrocious first quarter by pointing out that the officiating crew for this game was the same as the Michigan-WMU crew and frankly they should not have jobs after that game but especially after this one. Colandrea is the truth, and Kwazi Gilmer is a real threat. Andrew Marshall though is quietly one of the best DBs in the country.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Duke Blue Devils
Northwestern Wildcats The most under-rated team in the country. Doubt them at your own peril. They might not have the roster of an Ohio State but they took Indiana to the wire last week and just beat the crap out of Penn State. They are one of the best coached teams in the country between David Braun and Chip Kelly.
Iowa Hawkeyes
