ColombianInIowa24 Ballot for 2026 Week 6

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Oct. 4, 2026, 2:27 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Computer swap mechanisms with random swaps used to fill in unknowns based on past season data outcomes and then recombined in Monte Carlo. I added a model is confident in ranked status, to certify that all runs within a standard deviation from the mean resulted in a ranked status. Well shaken out, if a bit surprised with what is going on in 15-25. Very happy with who is in 25-35, as it shows the variation is not ridiculous but rather indicative of lack of confidence with games played so far.

Rank Team Reason
1 Alabama Crimson Tide 3.49 - Easily has shaken out to be the strongest with quality wins. Well above the rest, with Mississippi State win giving a lot of great transitives. Confident in ranked status.
2 Texas Longhorns 10.21 - Model still isn't fully convinced by Ohio State, but it is getting there. Confident in ranked status.
3 Mississippi State Bulldogs 13.59 - They got boatraced, but the model only knows they lost. Transitive wins here are still pretty solid, especially with Mizzou win. Confident in ranked status.
4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 14.54 - Undefeated. Confident in ranked status.
5 Pittsburgh Panthers 17.65 - The model remains blissfully unaware of what it took to stay undefeated. Confident in ranked status.
6 Missouri Tigers 18.95 - Win over Florida has cast doubt on the whole SEC order injecting high variance.
7 UCLA Bruins 21.14 - Undefeated.
8 Georgia Bulldogs 21.80 - Still no one good played, but undefeated while the rest of the SEC is confusing finally lets Georgia shine.
9 Miami Hurricanes 22.84 - See Georgia, but the ACC is weirder.
10 Duke Blue Devils 23.11 - Undefeated, with bye hurting again. Up next Georgia Tech...
11 Nebraska Cornhuskers 23.12 - Undefeated, notably so. Barely below the Blue Devils.
12 Texas Tech Red Raiders 24.13 - Undefeated, but not pretty.
13 BYU Cougars 25.94 - Texas Tech but worse.
14 North Dakota State Bison 26.19 - Finally overcome poor starting position and poor schedule to get ranked. Nothing too impressive won over, but alright.
15 James Madison Dukes 26.24 - See NDSU. Congrats JMU!
16 Indiana Hoosiers 26.82 - A win over Rutgers is not quite what is needed for the model to know if Indiana is good.
17 Florida Gators 29.37 - Clear signal, followed by destruction by Mizzou. Huh.
18 Utah Utes 29.41 - Honestly have looked the most convincing in the Big XII.
19 Ohio State Buckeyes 29.67 - Unlike, Rutgers, Iowa IS good enough to catch the model's attention and result in a B1G climb.
20 Ole Miss Rebels 30.57 - Are they actually good?
21 Wisconsin Badgers 31.97 - Destroyed by Notre Dame, but has looked solid in B1G play. Maybe Notre Dame is actually good?
22 Minnesota Golden Gophers 33.12 - Mississippi State loss still doesn't look that bad, allowing a climb.
23 Tennessee Volunteers 33.54 - Contrary to my belief, beating Auburn is considered impressive.
24 USC Trojans 33.56 - Who the Oregon madness has benefited this week. Also Washington choke.
25 LSU Tigers 34.65 - I don't think they are good.

Notable omissions: First, I note the AP poll is especially egregious this week so I don't really care and will also turn to the Coaches for comparison. #28 Oregon, loss to Oklahoma State still confuses everything. #29 Iowa, still not sure what to make of the top of the B1G. #31 Houston, Texas Tech hasn't looked good enough to make up for the near tie. #27 Kentucky, noise. #26 Boise State, see Oregon, USC.

Special notes: #35 Northwestern, mainly due to lack of confidence yet for Indiana. #45 Wake Forest, no clue tbh.

Not notable omissions: SMU and Oklahoma State. SMU I don't think is good at all and have no clue why they of all teams are ranked out of the ACC. Oklahoma State is subject to big noise for Tulsa loss and Oregon win without much to see yet in Big XII play.
