elnino550 Ballot for 2026 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 4, 2026, 8:14 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Resume-based

Removal of Michigan, VA Tech and Cincinnati
Missouri, Kentucky and Nebraska join the rankings.

Big movement upward for Alabama into 2nd who I debated moving into the 1st spot.
Just missing out: Wake Forest, Duke, Arizona, Boise State, North Dakota State

Rank Team Reason
1 Texas Longhorns Bye week, in a power ranking I could well have 4-5 teams above them right now but wins at Tennessee and Ohio State is still unmatchable.
2 Alabama Crimson Tide Wins against Mississippi State and Kentucky in largely dominant fashion is enough for the 2nd best overall resume.
I would have them power ranked number one at this moment in time, the team is improving every game.
3 Georgia Bulldogs Another dominant win, but they perhaps have only played the 3 worst teams in the SEC for this year so far. Huge game at Tuscaloosa next week.
4 Miami Hurricanes I switched Miami and Notre Dame as Miami looked more dominant in potentially a harder match at Clemson.
5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
6 Ohio State Buckeyes Only loss is at #1 Texas by a point in a game they should have won. They now a win at Iowa on their resume, the team to beat in their conference IMO and I would have them power ranked up there with Alabama.
7 Indiana Hoosiers Not going to put any stock in the Rutgers game, The meat of their schedule is in the next 3 games but they rise as they keep winning and Florida and Mississippi State suffer defeats.
8 Texas Tech Red Raiders Their offense looked extremely suspect against a weak Colorado side. And I would have them power-ranked below 3 B12 teams currently. But they're unbeaten with a win over Houston enough to have the top resume.
9 BYU Cougars
10 Utah Utes
11 Mississippi State Bulldogs They got blown out but their only loss is to the #2 Alabama and they have significant wins over Missouri / Minnesota.
12 Florida Gators Big fall for Florida after being dominated on the road by Missouri, this team still has huge up-side.
13 Ole Miss Rebels
14 LSU Tigers
15 Oklahoma State Cowboys
16 UCLA Bruins
17 Missouri Tigers Easy addition to the polls for this week with a dominant performance over Florida. I have them away from the above SEC cluster because that was really only their first win of note, whereas the other 1-loss SEC teams have 2 significant wins.
18 Oregon Ducks
19 Iowa Hawkeyes
20 Pittsburgh Panthers Unbeaten and now with a good win against VA Tech.
21 Tennessee Volunteers
22 USC Trojans
23 Houston Cougars
24 Nebraska Cornhuskers Very impressive performance against the first team with a pulse on their schedule, we get to see how good they are when they play Indiana next week so this could be a short stint in the rankings.
25 Kentucky Wildcats Needed overtime to win in SC but their only loss is at #2 Alabama. This is a good Kentucky team this year and interested how they will play against LSU next up.
