practicallybert Ballot for 2023 Week 15 & Bowls

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Dec. 3, 2023, 7:40 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Please note, any comments of ranked wins are from my current set of rankings, not CFP or AP rankings; Top 6 given reasons and NY6 Predictions included /// Others in Consideration: Iowa, Louisville, Clemson, Toledo, Memphis /// Previous Weeks and Years: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f3ewKTcSgz4PTeJn_sxYhCSP0U-YKg2QEchUbJnk1cM/edit?usp=sharing

Rank Team Reason
Washington Huskies CFP: Best wins and most impressive wins, five ranked wins (two on the road). Have done it at home and on the road, earned the right to be top ranked Rose Bowl v. Alabama
Michigan Wolverines CFP: Two excellent wins, but only ranked wins, one on the road. Incredible talent, but just short of UW Sugar Bowl v. Texas
Texas Longhorns CFP: One loss conference champion, neutral site ranked loss, but best win of the season (road 10 point win against conference champion Alabama). Have looked rocky to at points in second half of season but good wins against stronger pool of opponents Sugar Bowl v. Michigan
Alabama Crimson Tide CFP: One loss conference champion, home loss against Texas, four ranked wins all at home. Only one win by less than double digits, but have shown holes in road games and early in season. Rose Bowl v. Washington
Georgia Bulldogs 3-1 in ranked games, all towards end of season. Strong showings but head to head loss and transitive head to head loss work against them Orange Bowl v. Florida State
Florida State Seminoles Undefeated conference champion, but only one ranked win in schedule and at start of season. Three wins by one touchdown all against conference opponents in a down year for ACC where no one has looked great. Despite no losses, wins do not compare to Texas, Alabama, and Georgia (all who only have one loss to top 15 teams) Orange Bowl v. Georgia
Ohio State Buckeyes Peach Bowl v. LSU
Oregon Ducks Fiesta Bowl v. Liberty
Missouri Tigers Cotton Bowl v. Penn State
LSU Tigers Peach Bowl v. Ohio State
Penn State Nittany Lions Cotton Bowl v. Missouri
Ole Miss Rebels
Oregon State Beavers
Arizona Wildcats
Oklahoma Sooners
James Madison Dukes Stupid FBS transition rules
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Tennessee Volunteers
Utah Utes
NC State Wolfpack
Liberty Flames Fiesta Bowl v. Oregon
SMU Mustangs
Troy Trojans
Tulane Green Wave
Miami (OH) RedHawks
