CaptainScuttlebottom Ballot for 2023 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 18, 2023, 1:30 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Still haven't had time to fix my computer poll, so I'm still going off vibes.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Self explanatory
Ohio State Buckeyes They honestly look like the best team eye test wise, but I'm giving Georgia the benefit of the doubt for now.
Texas Longhorns Willing to overlook the first three quarters vs. Wyoming as a fluke, since they finished strong and pulled away at the end. Not great, but they still have one of the best wins of the season even if Bama isn't as elite as usual.
Michigan Wolverines Not much to knock them for, they've been very consistent against their cupcakes.
Florida State Seminoles Struggled a lot against a bad BC team, but willing to give them the same pass as Texas since it was such a weird week.
Washington Huskies They've got the best resume in the PAC 12 so far.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State is one of the best-looking teams from what I've seen, next week vs. Iowa is a good chance for them to jump up potentially into the top 5 if some above them struggle.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Self explanatory
USC Trojans Self explanatory, they kind of benefited from sitting out chaos week I think. Won't really be able to tell much about them until they play the heavy hitters of the PAC-12.
Utah Utes Self explanatory, biggest knock against them is only beating Baylor by 7.
Oregon Ducks They're basically neck and neck w/ Utah, as their biggest knock is only beating Tech by 8.
Washington State Cougars They have one of the better resumes in the conference. Big opportunities to rise / fall in the next two weeks.
Miami Hurricanes I'm giving them a lot of credit for the A&M win.
Oregon State Beavers They look very solid, it's so hard to rank the PAC teams right now.
Colorado Buffaloes Same as all the other PAC teams, it's really hard to tell. But they're looking more and more like one of those teams that is kind of being totally held together by their elite QB play, which IMO isn't a great outlook given their toilet paper O line. It's a question of how far Shedeur can carry them now IMO.
Alabama Crimson Tide They looked like straight up dog shit.
Duke Blue Devils Looked solid ever since beating Clemson. Their QB is nice too
Kansas Jayhawks Just gonna pretend the Nevada game didn't happen. Nothing to see here, move along.
Oklahoma Sooners Still don't know what to think yet, but so far so good. I'm still not gonna rank OU any higher until they actually beat someone though, which might not happen until Red River.
Ole Miss Rebels Kind of a boring 3-0, but still 3-0. Tulane is a solid W.
Kansas State Wildcats Not gonna ding them too much for losing to a walk off 61 yard FG.
Clemson Tigers Kind of running out of teams that deserve to be ranked. Clemson has a nice resume outside of Duke, who might actually be good, so they're probably the most deserving of the undeserving.
North Carolina Tar Heels UNC is kind of a boring 3-0 with a close one against App State, but still 3-0 and they've got a good QB. Nothing to sneeze at.
UCLA Bruins Mostly just putting them in here bc PAC-12 hype.
Florida Gators looks like dabo swinney and his boys have flipped the script with a statement game down in the swamp
