hendarvich Ballot for 2023 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 18, 2023, 3:50 p.m.

Overall Rationale: My poll started with a predictive/power ranking and will shift gradually through the course of the season to end with a resume based ranking. Dropped: #13 Tennessee: Steep drop, but it's still early in the season and I don't buy that Florida is very good yet. In retrospect I shouldn't have had them even as high as I did after losing Hooker and Hyatt. I can see them coming back in a few weeks, but they have some things to prove first.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs - | Lot's of top teams struggling with weaker opponents this week, but with not many losses not a lot movement for right now
Michigan Wolverines - | Go blue
Ohio State Buckeyes -
Washington Huskies +1
Florida State Seminoles -1
Penn State Nittany Lions -
USC Trojans -
Texas Longhorns -
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +1
Utah Utes +1
Oregon State Beavers +1
Oregon Ducks +3
LSU Tigers +4 | Less of a jump by LSU more of a fall by teams above them. I guess they're my favorite to win the SEC west?
Ole Miss Rebels +2 | Moving up but still didn't love their look against GT. I like Dart enough to pick them over Bama
Alabama Crimson Tide -1 | DEFCON 3 in Tuscaloosa, if they can't get right against Ole Miss then the Tide may be in a lot of trouble
Oklahoma Sooners +6 | I'm sold on the defense, getting there on the offense. Not seeing many losses on their schedule with the state of the rest of the B12
Duke Blue Devils +1
North Carolina Tar Heels +1
Washington State Cougars +4 | That CSU win is looking better now
UCLA Bruins - | Pretty sure my poll can't fit this many PAC teams by the end of the season, but for now they stay
Miami Hurricanes +3
Colorado Buffaloes -1 | CSU definitely exposed some issues here, first big test this weekend
Missouri Tigers NEW | Wasn't expecting to see them here, but right now I like them more than most of their division
Tulane Green Wave +1 |
Kansas State Wildcats -16 | Keeping them in this week, the Big 12 looks weak enough that I expect they'll end up looking good by the end of the year
