Overall Rationale: Week 11 notes: Deservedness keeps teams such as Texas out when I would have them over some of the teams in this poll. General: 1st layer, computer portion: SP+, opponents’ SP+, opponents’ opponents’ SP+, opponents’ win %, opponents’ opponents’ win %. 2nd layer, human portion: home/field/away, key injuries, P5/G5 status, watched game factors (ex: offensive/defensive line domination, rush yards after contact, average point of first contact, defensive penetration on non-inside screens, missed tackles, quarterback throwing release speed, overall turnovers, average starting field position, etc). 3rd layer, human portion: wins/losses vs higher-/lower-/non-ranked teams, recency of those results. 4th layer, computer portion: Deservedness = team cannot be ranked over another team with 2+ fewer losses (ex: 6-3 Texas can be ranked over 7-2 NC State, but 6-3 Texas cannot be ranked over 8-1 Coastal Carolina even if rankings have Texas over Coastal Carolina and/or I think Texas is better than Coastal Carolina).

2 Ohio State Buckeyes Northwestern game not a factor - Georgia just has better win at the moment
3 Tennessee Volunteers Close-ish loss on the road to a top-3 team doesn’t seem to penalize them too much

5 TCU Horned Frogs Lower in computer portion
6 Oregon Ducks
7 UCLA Bruins
8 Clemson Tigers Didn’t know how much they would drop after Notre Dame loss
9 LSU Tigers Only reason FSU isn’t ranked is because of Deservedness
10 Alabama Crimson Tide Computer portion has them higher
11 Utah Utes Utah above USC as its loss was by 1 point on the road while having a slightly harder schedule so far
12 USC Trojans
13 Penn State Nittany Lions
14 Ole Miss Rebels
15 Illinois Fighting Illini Computer portion has them lower. Human side is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as Michigan State was likely to get another conference win somewhere
16 Washington Huskies
17 North Carolina Tar Heels Close margins has computer portion ranking them much lower
18 Tulane Green Wave Computer portion has them lower. Don’t trust them 100% yet
19 NC State Wolfpack They and Liberty are 50/50, depends on injuries
20 Liberty Flames BYU and Arkansas were much better teams earlier in the season than they were when Liberty played them after injuries and demotivation. Computer portion has them much lower and even human side doesn’t like it, but they’re only here because of Deservedness.
21 UCF Knights Only here because of Deservedness
22 Cincinnati Bearcats Only here because of Deservedness
23 Troy Trojans Only here because of Deservedness
24 South Alabama Jaguars Only here because of Deservedness
25 UTSA Roadrunners Only here because of Deservedness. Next five some combination of Texas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, and Coastal Carolina
