Ballot Type: Human
Submitted: Sept. 6, 2022, 11:15 a.m.
Overall Rationale: Re-rack every week. No poll inertia. H2H matters, did they execute their gameplan well, do I believe in their QB, do I believe in their head coach, etc. It's early.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Georgia Bulldogs | Pounded Oregon to the point of looking like a low-tier G5 school. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | Held on to beat a better-than-originally-thought ND team at home. Offense will figure it out, defense looks improved. |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Nothing bad happened, but the other two wins were bigger. Smashing Texas would probably vault them to #1 next week. |
| Michigan Wolverines | |
| Texas A&M Aggies | After the rain delay they were technical. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | Great fight on the road in the shoe. Buchner could be great for the Golden Domers. |
| Clemson Tigers | Start Cade. |
| Baylor Bears | I'm excited for the Baylor-BYU game this week. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | |
| Florida Gators | Impressive hold with their backs against the wall at home. Not as impressive to Vegas as to the rest of the CFB world maybe, but a GREAT win. |
| Arkansas Razorbacks | I didn't have Cincy ranked, but that's still a quality program with a great coach. Good win. |
| Pittsburgh Panthers | Lucky pick, great catharsis beating WVU. |
| Utah Utes | Tough break, but still a solid team that should compete to get back to Vegas in December. |
| Miami Hurricanes | |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Did y'all know that Braelon Allen is only 15 years old? |
| Michigan State Spartans | |
| USC Trojans | |
| Kentucky Wildcats | |
| NC State Wolfpack | Send roses to the ECU kicker for the missed field goal, and the holder for the missed PAT. |
| BYU Cougars | *See Baylor, above |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Let's see how they do on the road at Pitt. |
| Houston Cougars | |
| Oregon Ducks | Barely hung on out of respect for the program and players. We'll see how they rebound in the coming weeks, and if they're still able to run the PAC-12 North or not. |
| Syracuse Orange | There are a bunch of teams who could go at 25. Syracuse's drubbing of Louisville may have flown under the radar, but of the various 1-0 teams with a P5 win this week, I think this win stands out so I'll slide them in here. Bonus points because my brother goes there and he'll yell at me for ranking his team. |
