Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: I reviewed all the games and watched all the games that were played between ranked opponents, conference teams, and all other FBS teams. I have some bias against the teams that played FCS opponents but no teams fell more than 3-4 spots. This is mainly due to other teams just performing better in their games. It's a SEC-heavy poll, but I think it's necessary.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Ohio State Buckeyes | A decisive win over Notre Dame gives them another week in the #1 spot for me. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Georgia beat Oregon with ease. They're the top SEC team until another SEC team has a bigger win. |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | An expected win over Utah State keeps them at #3. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | Oklahoma beat UTEP as expected. |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson was held to a 17-10 lead until late in the 3rd quarter when they beat Georgia Tech by a larger margin of 41-10. Nonetheless, it keeps the Tigers out of the top 4 at the moment. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Played an FCS team and although they shut them out it was a slog. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | Defeated Central Michigan, a team they lost to previously at home while ranked. Most of CMU's points were scored when the game was well out of reach. I'm willing to forgive this since CMU could have been facing an entirely different defense and offense for the 4th quarter. |
| Baylor Bears | Hit expectations for their 69-10 win over Albany. |
| Michigan Wolverines | Soundly defeated Colorado State. They move to #9. |
| Ole Miss Rebels | Beat Troy by a 28-10 margin,. Mississippi didn't get a stellar win but due to teams above them losing they have to rise. They round out the Top 10. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | They were in the game against #1 (imo) until late in the 4th Quarter and led for more than entire quarter of the game. They get knocked down a few pegs but they're not out of the CFP hunt. |
| Florida Gators | A come-from-behind victory over a very good Utah team. Florida earns a chance to jump into the polls and becomes a contender against Georgia and Kentucky in for the leader of the division. |
| Pittsburgh Panthers | Crazy win against West Virginia in the rebirth of the "Backyard Brawl." Exciting atmosphere and game. They move up significantly into my Top 15. |
| Arkansas Razorbacks | Won against a ranked Cincinnati team. They proved that the Bearcats were a tough out but they pulled away for the victory. They move up in my poll. |
| NC State Wolfpack | A near loss to ECU at home (at the fault of ECU) pushes them back a few spots. |
| Michigan State Spartans | They move up after beating Western Michigan by expected margins. |
| Kentucky Wildcats | A close game against Miami (OH) was blown open by the Wildcats and they achieved a solid victory. They move up. |
| USC Trojans | The Trojans had a solid win against Rice (C-USA). I'm not ready to move them into the Top #15 yet, but if they beat Stanford I have a feeling that I'll be moving them there soon. |
| Wake Forest Demon Deacons | They won against an FCS opponent. Similar to other teams that played FCS opponents I couldn't judge their games the same as the FBS teams that played FBS teams. I moved them back, however, they have a few games coming down the pike that might make me re-evaluate. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Played an FCS team. They beat them good but it was nothing impressive imo. I'm not anti-Wisconsin, I just want to see them have a performance like this against an FBS opponent. A solid win against Washington State would push them back up the polls. |
| Utah Utes | A close loss to Florida gives them a spot in the Top 25 still, but they get moved to the back of the list. |
| Tennessee Volunteers | A sound victory over Ball State. They move up a spot in my poll for the win. |
| Miami Hurricanes | I have been very cool on Miami, mainly due to previous years of watching the team. I moved them up because no one else fell behind them. However, I still feel Miami has been untested. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | I didn't have PSU ranked in my first poll. After their 35-31 win against Purdue I think they've earned a spot in the Top 25 after winning against a team that I believe will be a sleeper team in the Big Ten West. |
| Florida State Seminoles | They went 1-0 for the first time since 2016. Then they went 2-0 for the first time since 2016 and defeated an SEC opponent in what was essentially a road game. This is the first time in awhile that I think Florida State might make a run. |
