T-Thugs	15	The Big 12 is a mess to rank preseason. I feel like there's a bunch of teams that could win the conference and make the playoffs or also go like 6-6 and it wouldn't surprise me. Kansas State presumably should compete for the Big 12 title. I'm excited to see them in week 0 as they highlight the day. Could get a big jump up in my early rankings with a win over Iowa State.

Charlemagne42	18	The Wildcats have a monstrous schedule. They face four ranked conference opponents, more than any other Big 12 team I have ranked. But they also bring back the bulk of a solid 2024 team. Once they get past the opening gauntlet of Farm O'geddon, triple option in September, and Arizona in September, they'll be back in business. The business of being a problem for everyone else on their schedule.

Real_TSwany	10	Kansas State is, hands-down, the front runner in the Big 12, but more than that, one of the scariest teams in the country. Dylan Edwards has a case for "best running back in the nation," and QB Avery Johnson is set for a breakout season. Chris Klieman has won the conference before, and last year's conference leaders have lost key pieces to the NFL, the portal, or premarital sex (see BYU). It's easy to see why the Wildcats believe they'll be sitting pretty. But they certainly aren't alone at the top. Iowa State is close behind, and their week-zero Farmageddon matchup in Dublin should say a lot about the Big 12 picture early on.

Is this team beyond just an 8-9 win team? That depends if Johnson can find more consistency and how the rest of the top heavy conference shakes out
