Oklahoma State dropped the rematch to Baylor on a neutral site, which nullifies any real H2H there (if anything, Baylor has it because OKST's win was at home). They still have the great home win against Baylor, along with one against Oklahoma at home, and honestly their resume feels pretty similar but without the BYU win; wins at home against KSU and at Boise are solid, and they have their somewhat questionable loss at Iowa State, though that's not nearly as bad. The BYU win for Baylor is really the separator here between the two. |

Oklahoma State under Gundy has had one phrase become a whispered line of hope: "Give Gundy a defense and watch what he can do." Unfortunately for him he had to get the defense with probably his weakest offense in a while. No Chuba Hubbard or Justice Hill, no Weeden or Rudolph, and no Tylan Wallace or Justin Blackmon or Dez Bryant or James Washington. Keep in mind that until 2020, Oklahoma State was the sole leader in Biletnikoffs (now tied with Bama). With an OF+ of 61 and a DF+ of 3, this is truly an inverse of the team we are used to, but what a mighty fine team it is. With an SoR of 8, an FPI of 8, and an F+ of 8, how could I not put them at 8? |
