bwburke94 Ballot for 2021 Week 15 & Bowls

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Dec. 6, 2021, 8:33 p.m.

Overall Rationale: There's no better feeling than being bailed out by a 5-7 team.

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines Last week's controversy resolved itself on the field, as Georgia lost. I'm still interested in fixing my model for next year.
Alabama Crimson Tide My algorithm finally believes in Bama. All it took was beating the previous #2 team to take their spot.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia and Ohio State are only separated by a few percentage points. Once again, they're dragged down by the FCS game; if you throw it out and take only the 12 FBS games, Georgia's lead over aOSU increases significantly, but this time their ranking wouldn't change.
Ohio State Buckeyes ...This wouldn't make for a good playoff.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Speaking of things to fix, Notre Dame over Cincinnati doesn't make sense - because my algorithm doesn't recognize the fact that a 13-0 Cincy who played ND must have beaten ND. Yet another result of treating SoS as a single value instead of a set of 13.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Oklahoma State Cowboys What is it with head-to-head results ending up inverted in my rankings?
Baylor Bears
Michigan State Spartans
Iowa Hawkeyes
Ole Miss Rebels I'm convinced that had Notre Dame lost another game (and Cincy's best win became worse), the committee would have shoehorned Ole Miss into the playoff.
Oklahoma Sooners
Wisconsin Badgers ...My algo *does* know Wisconsin is 8-4, right?
BYU Cougars
Pittsburgh Panthers
Purdue Boilermakers
UTSA Roadrunners
Utah Utes
San Diego State Aztecs
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Oregon Ducks
Clemson Tigers Now that we're past the CCG participants, everything stays pretty much the same at the bottom.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Minnesota Golden Gophers
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State was the first team out last week; #22 Houston drops on account of their loss.
