dusklord1 Ballot for 2022 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 25, 2022, 12:26 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Out: Florida, Texas Borderline: Syracuse (a fraudulent 4-0 is still 4-0), Pitt, WSU, OSU

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ohio State Buckeyes
Clemson Tigers Clemson jumping is mainly a function of DJ looking like a legit P5 quarterback. I'm less concerned about the defense giving up lots of points, since Wake probably has the most prolific offense in the ACC
Michigan Wolverines Satisfactory but unremarkable performance vs. a solid Maryland team that will probably end up 4th in the east (not better than that though; entirely unconvinced they can actually take down OSU or PSU). Defense looked a little shaky and the downfield passing threat wasn't really there
USC Trojans I doubt they're the 6th best team in the country, but the teams above them lost enough to elevate them this high
Tennessee Volunteers Couple of solid to good wins vs Florida and Pitt
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Kentucky Wildcats Struggled with a team Vandy beat on the road, but still undefeated
Penn State Nittany Lions Also struggled with a meh opponent
NC State Wolfpack
Oregon Ducks Oregon jumps Utah due to higher quality wins
Utah Utes
Ole Miss Rebels
Oklahoma Sooners
Minnesota Golden Gophers Minnesota seems legit and should be a heavy favorite to win the West. Inevitably, they'll find a way to mess it up at some point during the season
Texas A&M Aggies
Arkansas Razorbacks Big choke job
Washington Huskies
Baylor Bears
Florida State Seminoles
Kansas Jayhawks 4-0, wins have been convincing, and two have been road games
BYU Cougars
Kansas State Wildcats Good win vs OU, but last week's loss is a real stinker
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Held their own against a very good Clemson team. They drop because a loss is a loss, but I don't think my priors about their true ability changed much
