Overall Rationale: still an early season poll. preseason expectations are a small part of my consideration, so few teams with a loss are ranked. i really wanted to rank marshall, but notre dame is just ass i think. won't be surprised if nd finishes with a losing record.

3 Michigan Wolverines feels weird putting michigan at #3, but they got the spot until someone else proves they deserve it

6 BYU Cougars byu looks legit
7 Oklahoma State Cowboys defense looked much better than the CMU game
8 Texas Longhorns see alabama
9 Kentucky Wildcats did not see that win over florida coming. congrats kentucky

15 Alabama Crimson Tide very bad officiating on multiple key calls that had a clear impact on the score in a game that was ultimately decided by a single point (face mask on Robinson in the red zone that should've been first and goal from the 5, blatant PI on Sanders in the endzone on third down, major offensive hold on Young's 19 yard run to set up the game winning kick, over-the-back PI on Worthy). not considering that play on Young in the end zone because it was close enough in real time to go either way. perhaps the most consequentially bad officiating i can recall watching. this poll is not making the same mistakes as the officials and is treating that game as an alabama loss.
16 Appalachian State Mountaineers lol aggies, but also app state continues to be the p5 killer.
17 NC State Wolfpack way less ugly than last week, good job wolfpack
18 Ole Miss Rebels
19 North Carolina Tar Heels putting them behind app state despite the head-to-head. app state has the more impressive win and i'd be more scared to play them right now.
20 Florida State Seminoles didn't play this week, but i didn't forget about that win in death valley
21 Washington State Cougars wisconsin is a good team. very impressive road win
22 Miami Hurricanes
23 Penn State Nittany Lions
24 Iowa State Cyclones put up 10 on that stifling iowa defense
25 Baylor Bears didn't deserve to be unranked after a tough 2OT loss on the road. crowded with b12 at the bottom of the poll lol
