FlashSpider-man Ballot for 2023 Final

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Jan. 9, 2024, 10:27 a.m.

Overall Rationale: My opinion, mostly. Bias: I go to Tamu and grew up an ASU fan. I try to base off results, not preconceived talent, though I can fall for it. Trying to put a weight on wins, though it can be hard in some cases. And I don't know g5, so I am only gonna put them of they make something the week before. I may be weird with them. Feel free to @ me on reddit, I'd love to talk about it.

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines
Washington Huskies
Florida State Seminoles So idk what to do here or where to rank them. Bowl games are dumb now, as no one cares. Here, no one even showed up. So I don't feel I can hold it against then. Ultimately, they went undefeated when most of their players played. Some may say "they had an easy schedule", to which my response would be to point out before the playoffs, Michigan only played two difficult teams, though idk how good Penn State should be considered. Based on ap rankings, FSU beat 12, 19, and 20, while Michigan beat 10, 13, and 24. The point is I don't understand how their resume isn't considered comparable at least. Plus, JJ Mccarthy never did anything for Michigan. I mean, they ran the ball for an entire half against a good team. And Michigan was repeatedly ranked 1 (which they ended up demonstrating they deserve). I stand by a belief the B1G was comparable to the ACC (actually, I think the ACC had more depth, though FSU didn't play all of the top teams)
Texas Longhorns
Alabama Crimson Tide
Georgia Bulldogs Congrats, you beat a team where no one played. I can't rank them above Bama so they end here
Oregon Ducks Beat up on a bad g5 winner.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Missouri Tigers
Ole Miss Rebels
Arizona Wildcats Idk how to rank bowl games. I want to keep the shifting to a minimum, though some games idk who sat. For here, I don't like this but they beat OU, though DG didn't play. Sad they ended so high
LSU Tigers Hey, another team I hate. With that being said, hope Daniels puts up the best combine of all time or something. Please get into the top 3
Oklahoma Sooners
Penn State Nittany Lions
Louisville Cardinals
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
NC State Wolfpack
Clemson Tigers
Kansas State Wildcats
Liberty Flames Top g5 team. Got lucky the other top ones all lost their bowl game as well.
Kansas Jayhawks
Tennessee Volunteers Been low on Tennessee all year but they end as a 4 loss p5 team so they make it
Iowa Hawkeyes I've been putting Iowa higher than most, cause they were getting wins. But, once again, they demonstrate an inability to perform against ranked teams. With how bad their division of the B1G is, and how bad they do against ranked teams, they look pretty bad. They are lucky to only have 4 losses, and beating ISU keeps them out of 25. (ISU had same conference record as WVU and beat KSU, which is a stronger win than any of WVU, so I feel they can be considered semi comparavle)
West Virginia Mountaineers I believe this is the last 4 loss p5 team so I guess they make it.
