RedBarracuda25 Ballot for 2023 Final

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Jan. 9, 2024, 1:38 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines Through a scandal, six games coached by another coach and the typical Harbaugh NFL rumors, the Wolverines pushed through it all and got over the hump. This team was built from the trenches out and that came back to help them in the playoffs. This team will no doubt go down as one of the most controversial teams of all time, but they will go down as champions regardless. Great win Michigan, go Blue
Washington Huskies So close yet so far. Penix decided the last game of the year was the best time to forget how to throw. Hold your heads high Huskies. This season was far better than I could've ever dreamed for y'all. I doubt they're as successful next year in the B10, but this is not the last time you'll hear of the Huskies. DeBoer is a good one and you'll be back soon enough.
Georgia Bulldogs Would've loved to see this Georgia team in the playoffs, but alas the curse of Atlanta Alabama. Even though you didn't finish as 3 time champions, this was still a great season for the dawgs. They'll be back and pissed off next year. I think there's a good argument they enter next season as the #1. Also 63-3 lol
Florida State Seminoles Welp. Y'all got screwed over, but come on that was a pathetic performance. You could've had a chance to taint Michigan season's and at least leave this Seminoles team in the history books but instead gave up. I can't respect that I'm sorry. Disappointing decision from the committee and an even more disappointing response
Texas Longhorns Texas wasn't back, and then it almost was, and then it wasn't back. This was still a tremendous season for the longhorns and a firm statement in their last year in the B12. They're ready for SEC ball, hope the SEC is ready for them.
Alabama Crimson Tide Saban's black magic could only carry this team so far. Although 6 minutes to have a QB draw be your game defining play is certainly interesting. Alabama still seems like a QB away, but that O-line performance was pathetic. If Milroe develops he'll be a top QB and this team can go far, but if he doesn't...
Oregon Ducks Yeah that's about what I expected. Fun end to the season for Oregon. This team just seems like it lost confidence whenever it played Washington. Regardless, still a very good season for the ducks. Excited to see this team in the B10
Missouri Tigers Stole a win in Arlington to cap off an electric Mizzou season. Drinkwitz went from being on the hot seat to having a couple years leash. The Tigers are arguably the 3rd best SEC team, and that's a major accomplishment. Keep the momentum Mizzou
Ohio State Buckeyes At least your bowl performance made Day jolt for a better QB. With Michigan losing a lot of key players to the draft this off-season, I think the Buckeyes have a solid chance to take back their B10 crown. Day should not on the hot seat, but the expectations for his job are national championship high. I don't know if he survives another Michigan loss
Ole Miss Rebels The Penn St of the Sec vs Penn St. Ole Miss is confirmed to be the more Penn statey of them. In all seriousness, another great season for the Rebs. Kiffin has made the program into a perennial dark house in the sec. I think he get's y'all at least once sec title before Saban retires.
Arizona Wildcats What a year for the wildcats. From 3-3 to winning their last 7. I am so excited for the future of this time. The B12 is gonna be a scrum fest next season, but I give the wildcats good odds to come out on top.
Penn State Nittany Lions Can't even beat your equal in the sec smh. But seriously, Franklin has desperately got to get over the hump. I don't think Penn St can go out and get a better coach than him, but at the same time his record in big games is starting to get indefensible. A whole new offense next year should show if Franklin's just been in a slump, or if it's a trait
LSU Tigers Honestly just cut the whole defense and start over. I'm only half joking when I say this LSU defense would let Iowa hang 50 on em. Still a good year overall tho, but losing your OC this late gotta suck
Oklahoma Sooners It was a great season until it wasn't. This Sooners squad has come far from last year, but mid-season expectations will get ya. It will be very tough in the SEC, but I think Venables is a good coach.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I think next year is the make or break year for Freeman. He's been building since his first year, and this squad feels closer every year but he's gotta make a leap sooner or later. Getting the LSU OC is a fantastic start. I'm excited for ND this year.... but I was also excited last year
Liberty Flames yeah I mean idk what I really expected. Still an exceptional season for the flames. I'll probably get flamed for ranking them too high, but 13-1 is a tremendous accomplishment regardless. Although next year please schedule a few non cupcakes lol. Just teasing. Not really
Louisville Cardinals Wow that went bad fast. Awful end to the year, but the cards overachieved. This squad managed to win 10 games with Plummer, that's an accomplishment in of itself. Hell if this is the floor with Brohm...
Oklahoma State Cowboys Up and down, up and down. Lot's of mixed feelings this Cowboy season. No idea how a team gets blown out by South Alabama but beats Oklahoma, but then again college football. Next year is crucial with the wide open b12. Anyone's game and I think the cowboys can play.
Kansas State Wildcats I've disrespected the wildcats all year and I think it's time I atone for that. This is definitely a top 25 team and I just didn't see it. Great win, wildcats, go win the b12 again.
Tennessee Volunteers Tennessee feels like one of the teams that benefited most from SEC bias this year. This team felt solidly in the middle of cab teams, better than the bad teams but nowhere near the good teams. Iamaleava looked good, looking forward to having to figure out how to spell/pronounce that
Clemson Tigers Seems like Dabo teams recently have a thing with collapsing early in the season only to rebound by the end. The Tigers are really struggling to find an identity in the post-Lawrence/Watson era. But maybe Tyler from Spartanburg was exactly the spark Dabo needed...
NC State Wolfpack Shame to end on a bowl loss, but the Wolfpack were a sneaky good team this year. Quietly got 9 wins. Maybe a name to look out for next year
James Madison Dukes Asking a 272 year old president to defeat the largest Air Force in the world probably was never going to go well. Right as the Dukes finally are able to win a sun belt title... the whole team leaves. There's still a lot of talent left on the squad, and they got a great hc hire in my opinion. I think they'll have more fun in the fun belt then they expect
Kansas Jayhawks This Jayhawks team keeps building. Not a strong start like last year, but a good year overall. If this team takes the leap, they'll be in the b12 mix.
Maryland Terrapins Fuck it, I've avoided my Maryland bias long enough. Have to put them in the poll at least once. GOOOOOOO TERPS
