Still a couple of undefeated teams to get to, but the gap in beta_rank between these good one loss teams and the lesser of the undefeated teams is too great for me to ignore. Beta_Rank number 6
13 Wake Forest Demon Deacons 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 13. Only loss is to undefeated Clemson
14 Kansas State Wildcats 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 15. Only loss is to Tulane which is a solid team, beta_rank number 27
15 Oregon Ducks 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 17. Only loss is to Georgia
16 Minnesota Golden Gophers 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 18. Only loss is to Purdue, which is beta_rank.... wait for it..... 12!
17 Kansas Jayhawks 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 23. Only loss is to undefeated TCU
18 Illinois Fighting Illini 1 loss, Beta_Rank number 26. Only loss is to a bad Indiana team (beta_rank number 82) but they should be undefeated if it were not for some bad officiating
19 James Madison Dukes Back to the undefeated teams which Beta_rank isn't as sold on. JMU is beta_rank number 39
20 Syracuse Orange undefeated, beta_rank number 40
21 Oklahoma State Cowboys undefeated, beta_rank number 45
22 Texas Longhorns At this point, the undefeated and 1 loss teams are pretty unappealing, so Texas makes my top 25 as the first 2 loss team of the season. Beta_Rank number 4
23 NC State Wolfpack 1 loss, Beta_rank number 33. I haven't forgot about being a missed field goal away from losing against ECU
24 Purdue Boilermakers 2 losses, beta_rank number 12. Shocked that the model likes Purdue this much but here we are. Close losses against 2 undefeated teams, and they are getting a ton of credit for beating Minnesota and Maryland which the model likes quite a bit
25 Maryland Terrapins 2 losses, beta_rank number 11. Gave Purdue the nod in the rankings due to the head to head win despite Maryland still being higher in Beta_Rank. Only losses are to undefeated Michigan, and (apparantly) juggernaut Purdue.
