Overall Rationale: 1-15 are the remaining undefeated teams. 16-24 are the remaining 1 loss power 5 teams. 25 is the best 2 loss team.

1 Ohio State Buckeyes (0) Another huge win against Michigan State. MSU isn't very good but an impressive win nonetheless. Next up for Ohio State is Iowa after their bye this week.
2 Georgia Bulldogs (+1) After playing a couple of sluggish games, Georgia gets back on track with a crushing of Auburn. They will get another blowout victory this week against Vandy.
3 Alabama Crimson Tide (-1) Saban improves his record against former assistance. It came down to the wire, but a win is a win. Biggest game of the season this week with #3 Alabama traveling to Knoxville to take on #5 Tennessee.
4 USC Trojans (0) Lincoln has this team cooking. Wazzu is a good team and they were able to take care of business.
5 Tennessee Volunteers (+3) Tennessee has been very impressive this year. It's put up or shut up time for Tennessee with the big bad boys coming to town this week.
6 Clemson Tigers (+1) Clemson has been putting the hammer down against bad teams, and handling good teams. They travel to Tallahassee this week where they will be tested by a good Florida State team.
7 Michigan Wolverines (-2) Pretty uninspiring first half from the Wolverines. Still won the game by 21. I just think Clemson and Tennessee were more impressive this week and deserve the spots over Michigan. Big game this week against #8 Penn State.
8 Penn State Nittany Lions (-2) First real test for Penn State this week. Will they look ahead to the Whiteout? Doubt it. Teams don't typically travel to the Big House and overlook that team. Especially when that team is ranked #7. Tough stretch for Penn State here with Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio State. (One of these is unlike the other).
9 TCU Horned Frogs (0) Great win in Lawrence when the world was against them. Lets see if they can put together four good wins in a row.
10 Oklahoma State Cowboys (0) Time for Oklahoma State to truly prove themselves. Baylor took a step back this year but that was still a nice win. I think TCU is for real so if OK State can pull this one out they will move up a few spots.
11 UCLA Bruins (+1) I was high on Utah, last week I said they were the best 1 loss team in the country. UCLA took them down and for the second week in a row had an impressive win. It's hard not putting them higher but the teams above them are also very good.
12 Ole Miss Rebels (-1) Another SEC team beating up on Vanderbilt. Another relatively easy week for Mississippi this week against Auburn. Good chance this team is undefeated heading into the A&M week.
13 Syracuse Orange (+1) Syracuse has passed their couple tests so far, but this week will tell how real they really are. A win this week could put them close to the top ten with a good NC State team coming to town.
14 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (+1) Another close game for the Chanticleers. They need to figure out their problems before they get to the top half of the Sun Belt conference.
15 James Madison Dukes (+1) I would put JMU higher if they weren't on probation. The NCAA should really get rid of this rule, it is extremely stupid.
16 Mississippi State Bulldogs (+3) Very good football team. Mississippi State should probably be undefeated. They are a very impressive team and are the best 1 loss team in the country.
17 Oregon Ducks (+5) I have been low on Arizona, but Oregon handled business. They are a good team when they get good Bo Nix. Hopefully that's who they get on the other side of their bye at #11 UCLA.
18 NC State Wolfpack (+2) Idle week. Game at the Carrier Dome this week could shoot them up the poll this time next week.
19 Kansas Jayhawks (-6) Kansas defense looked tremendous in the first half, horrible in the second. They lost their QB early and still gave TCU a run for their money. I think this Kansas team is still very good and think they actually have a shot at the conference after this showing.
20 Illinois Fighting Illini (NEW) Illinois might win the Big Ten West. They have made it 2/3 of the way through the Big Ten West gauntlet of the triangle of hate. The team they have left is this weekend when the #24 Gophers come to town. If Illinois can pull this one off, the West could be theirs to lose.
21 Kansas State Wildcats (+2) K State is limping into their bye week after squeaking by Iowa State. It was ugly but they got the job done. Now they get a needed week off before taking on #9 TCU.
22 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-1) Wake took care of Army this week. Didn't see anything from this game but Wake will have to get through a couple conference games before their date with NC State.
23 North Carolina Tar Heels (NEW) Has North Carolina figured out their defensive problems? Good win this week in South Florida. Look for Carolina to put up a huge offensive performance this week against their bitter Rival. GTHD.
24 Minnesota Golden Gophers (NEW) Is Minnesota really the worst 1 loss power 5 team? Maybe not. We will find out this week what the Gophers trajectory is going to be with a road game against #20 Illinois.
25 Texas Longhorns (NEW) Texas is the best 2 loss team in the country. 49-0 is an impressive win no matter the opponent, and this time that opponent was a big rival in Oklahoma. Now, Oklahoma has major problems and Gabriel was injured, but Texas took care of business regardless. Texas is 1 injury away from potentially being top 10 in my poll.
