Overall Rationale: General ranking thought process is a combination of considering efficiency metrics and quality of resume (recency weighted more heavily). Dropped from last week: Kentucky (17 - I don't want to punish *too* heavily for losing without a starting QB (only dropped Kansas 1, for example), but to worse when it's an average team at home), BYU (20). New this week: Texas (22), Tulane (25). Next few out, in order: Minnesota, Florida, Kentucky, BYU, Purdue, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Illinois. Special shout-outs: San Jose State, South Alabama

I think behind Tennessee and USC, who have largely taken care of business repeatedly, but ahead of some other teams who haven't shown a whole lot but are sticking around in the top 10 from inertia is fair for TCU and UCLA. TCU ahead based on road win vs. home, but this is basically a toss-up. |
