Overall Rationale: Note on completely unranking A&M and ND: At what point do we stop ranking teams based off their name and what we are expecting them to be? Maybe we had lower expectations for ND under a new coach, but A&M was supposed to come out the gate swinging with all the recruits they have. But now ND is 0-2 and A&M is 1-1 with a win coming against an FCS team. I cannot find a reason why these two teams, at the moment, are considered top 25 teams. On Ranking Marshall and App State: why not? who else takes those spots? winless ND? truthfully I also almost ranked Air Force as their 2-0 with a win against a P5 team. This early on in the season I want to rank and reward teams that are showing who they truly are, not based on what I expect from them.

1 Georgia Bulldogs Georgia didnt necessarily do anything to deserve moving up but bama got demoted
2 Alabama Crimson Tide Its usually pretty silly to demote a team on a week they won, but it was pretty silly that bama was ranked #1 to begin with. The team by no means looked bad against texas, but their defense looked good but unpolished and penalized and the offense wasnt efficient until the last drive.
3 Ohio State Buckeyes
4 Michigan Wolverines
5 Oklahoma Sooners
6 Clemson Tigers
7 Oklahoma State Cowboys
8 Kentucky Wildcats I could argue about having them one or two spots higher here. Until shown otherwise, kentucky is one of the better teams in the country
9 Arkansas Razorbacks Good win but seeing how many points they allowed is a little concerning
10 BYU Cougars Great toe to toe win against a Baylor team thats supposed to be very good. BYU very deserving of at least a top 12 spot
11 USC Trojans
12 Michigan State Spartans
13 Miami Hurricanes I could argue they should be lower, they struggled early against southern miss
14 Tennessee Volunteers While not a decisive win, a win against a pitt team that has looked pretty good this season is deserving of a significant bump
15 Ole Miss Rebels
16 Wake Forest Demon Deacons
17 NC State Wolfpack
18 Oregon State Beavers Two wins against that while they are G5 teams, are generally considered top tier G5 teams. They could be lower here probably, but the rankings from 15/16 down are just kind of a jumble anyways
19 Pittsburgh Panthers Loss to a tennessee team that many predicted would have a good year. Cant sustain another loss or ugly win against bad team
20 Baylor Bears Still deserved to be ranked as they lost a close game against a good BYU team, but the playcalling and QB play is very sus
21 Kansas Jayhawks theyre 2-0 and have a conference win. Why not? whos more deserving to be ranked?
22 Texas Longhorns As a follow up to my bama reasoning, while its silly to rank someone after a loss, I would 100% count that game as a moral victory for texas. The offense could use some improvement which will be tough after losing ewers, but the fact the defense was flying and making plays in that heat against bama makes them deserving
23 Appalachian State Mountaineers They beat a top 10 team, why not?
24 Marshall Thundering Herd Ditto, if you dont like them being #24 I challenge you to make a strong argument as to who else you would have take these two spots from app state and marshall
25 Florida Gators They still beat utah, I think they will still be good, but theyre toeing the line.
