Alabama looks like the best team in America, again. They were my preseason #1 and remain so. |
2 |

Georgia dominated South Carolina in a way I wasn't expecting. Who will compete with them in SEC East? Kentucky? Next up is one of my teams, MTSU, and I'm expecting an annihilation sadly. |

Oklahoma rolls again. Not much to say here. I had them #4 preseason, and I think that's fairly accurate. |
4 |

Clemson escaped at TAMU. I expected a win, but it was too close for comfort. Though TAMU is good, I don't think they're current Top 25 material. That said, a win is a win. |

Auburn's win over Washington was convincing. So was their takedown of Alabama State. |
6 |
![]() |
Stanford's iffy first week versus their second - major improvements. USC wasn't a pushover but they sure looked like it. Stanford moves up one spot for me. |
7 |

After a shaky game against App State, I think PSU is the class of the Big Ten currently. Pitt's better than Rutgers, and the Nittany Lions destroyed them on the road. |
8 |

Missing Urban Meyer hasn't had an impact. 52-3 over Rutgers was even better than I expected. OSU moves up. |
9 |
![]() |
Wisconsin looked questionable for too much of the game against New Mexico. But they ended up winning big - which is what counts. Badgers move up! |
10 |

After the Auburn loss, things weren't great. Still not sure about the Huskies. However, they're not a bad team. Only drop one spot. |

Currently, the class of the ACC Coastal. Hokies looked fine against FSU (but the Samford game makes that a little questionable) and did fine against an FCS foe in W&M. |
12 |
![]() |
LSU looks to be improved. Still, at least the 3rd best team in the west - at least from first impressions. Up big in my poll! |

I realize I may be too high on the Bows... but there's something about Hawai'i. As long as they keep winning, they'll keep moving up in my book! Are they better than Boise or UCF? Maybe, maybe not. No major tests until BYU. |

Notre Dame beat Michigan - a good win. However, the Ball State game was almost a disaster. They hover around their preseason rank for me. |
15 |
![]() |
WVU looks good this year. But how good? Behind Oklahoma, they may be the second-best in the Big 12. Maybe. |
16 |

Good win over Kansas State. The Bulldogs have improved. |
17 |
![]() |
After the disaster against LSU, the Hurricanes come out and win by the biggest margin of victory in school history (77). I'd have dropped my Canes further if not for that, given LSU's 31-0 win over an FCS foe. Toledo could be rough. |

TCU hasn't looked special this year, but they've done what they needed to do. OSU will be the real test. In their own backyard, the Frogs should at least hang tight! |

Excellent performance against UCONN by the Broncos. But UCONN is terrible - probably one of the worst, if not THE worst, FBS teams. Boise State is going to be having another 10 win season in all likelihood. |
20 |
![]() |
UCF looks good again. Undefeated good? Remains to be seen. They rise in my poll, and for good reason. |
21 |
![]() |
The loss to Notre Dame looks worse this week than it did last week. That said, they get credit for a blowout win over WMU - even though the Broncos are pretty bad this year. |
22 |

BC looks like Clemson's main competition this year in the ACC Atlantic. Could they actually be the division winners? I think it's possible. They've put on clinics so far this year. |
23 |

The Mean Green have looked unstoppable so far. The real test is if they roll over Arkansas like I'm expecting them to do. Given Arkansas's collapse at Colorado State - they should be licking their chops. |

I love me some Herm Edwards. Nice win for the Sun Devils over a good Michigan State team (their close win over Utah State isn't looking so bad after the Aggies completely annihilated New Mexico State). I'm expecting them to falter this year, eventually - but if they don't, I won't be mad. |

Oregon... are you good this year? Or aren't you? Guess we'll find out. |
