moistats_ Ballot for 2018 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 9, 2018, 2:30 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Primarily based on result of week 1 and 2 matches with rigor considered, talent and coaching experience, future schedule, projections of playoffs and conference champions, and polls of week onepretty boring week for the top 25, criteria expected to change when the CFP Poll hits, and will include teams under a first-year head coach as well as five-eight G5 teams (maybe as early as week six)Notre Dame, the outliers, and my projected champion/runner-up get the top 10 spots at leastSubmitted early because I'm not including Hawai'i, yetDropped: Michigan State, Memphis, and NorthwesternYou better watch out for Eastern Michigan at Buffalo, because the winning team might take the spot in the top 25

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide The disparity between Alabama and Clemson is getting larger with this blowout against Arkansas State (a projected top G5 team). Well done Tide!
Clemson Tigers Clemson will need to make up this semi-ugly win at Texas A&M, and it will probably be much later on in the season. I say semi because I don't know if Fisher is going to be that good of a coach later on, but we'll see.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish The next two are Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Notre Dame has much better wins (mostly because of Michigan). Hopefully, Ball State turns out to be a top G5 team.
Wisconsin Badgers Nothing too special happening here with another blowout win against a struggling G5 opponent
Stanford Cardinal As expected, Stanford steals the short-lived projection of USC winning the Pac-12. In fact, the wins against USC and San Diego State are much better than West Virginia's (although the neutral site against Tennessee is strong).
West Virginia Mountaineers A dominant win against an FCS team.Let's be real, BORING. Nothing notable happened
Oklahoma Sooners Again, I'm really conflicted between WVU and Oklahoma. Both are seriously outstanding teams in contention for the Big 12. Awesome thrashing, OU
Ohio State Buckeyes Good shit Ohio State, even though the wins are against two bottom tier P5 teams. I'm curious to see how much better OSU is with Meyer.
Georgia Bulldogs Fuck Georgia. I know South Carolina was in the AP Top 25 because of the SEC brand but......Fuck (me still no likey FCS wins)
Miami Hurricanes Miami was fucking pissed. I'm telling you, no one should put away this team completely because of the loss against LSU.
USC Trojans You all are really good at wasting talent. This was the same problem Washington experienced last week against Auburn. This was frustrating to watch. I'll just slowly move you Trojans down because I think Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah should be taken seriously.
Boise State Broncos Woah Boise State, chill. I'm glad I picked you Broncos as the G5 representative for the NY6. God's speed for Oklahoma State in Stillwater though.
Penn State Nittany Lions Fucking awesome Penn State, you're back at around the spot where you belonged in my preseason poll. Turns out App State is fucking awesome as well
Auburn Tigers Nothing happened this week, but next week will be the deciding factor for a lot of things
LSU Tigers See above
TCU Horned Frogs TCU smashed SMU. Hoorah
Michigan Wolverines Meh
Washington Huskies Meh
USF Bulls I was looking between USF and Houston. I chose USF because they have a more doable schedule of winning The American, albeit USF playing at Houston later on. I'm not choosing UCF until I know that the first-year head coaching is actually impacting in the long run. USF also hosts UCF.
Duke Blue Devils BLUE AND WHITE! This was a very strong win at Northwestern. I'm not surprised Duke is playing this good.
Virginia Tech Hokies ...nothing happened
Boston College Eagles Is anyone paying attention to Boston College's slaughtering?
Utah Utes welcome back(Tiebreaker against OkSt for beating G5 team away)
North Texas Mean Green Nothing happened but shit Mean Green
Oklahoma State Cowboys welcome back
