jmac_21 Ballot for 2018 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 10, 2018, 9:02 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide While tailgating at the OU game I realized, now that Bama has a QB/Legit Offense they might actually be unbeatable :/
Georgia Bulldogs The Bulldogs jumped Clemson for me this week. The Bulldogs look to be a complete team.
Clemson Tigers Clemson dropped a spot for me. Kyle field is a really hard place to play, but they had many chances to pull away, and that secondary wasn't particularly sharp Saturday night.
Oklahoma Sooners OU nearly dropped a spot for me. (They probably will drop a spot for many others) They just didn't look particularly explosive in the first half. I thought the defense was really good. All UCLA had was really 2 huge plays. The offense was really good on 3rd down, but Anderson getting hurt is going to sting more than a lot of people realize.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State makes it look so easy, but it's not as easy as people think to beat a conference opponent the way they beat Rutgers. Ohio State's offense is much improved.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin started pretty darn slow. Went in the half only up 3 on New Mexico. They did a great job of making adjustments, and really kicked butt the second half. The're just slightly behind OU and tOSU for me.
Auburn Tigers Auburn took care of business against an inferior opponent, but it's always a good sign to score in the 60's no matter who you're playing.
Stanford Cardinal Stanford moves a few spots up for me this week. They aren't ultra flashy, but they're effective and they have a good win on their resume.
Virginia Tech Hokies This is where I had VT last week, a lot of people aren't as high on them as I am, and that was because of their offense. They scored 62 points this week, so I feel okay about their offense going forward.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish ND dropped a few spots for me. Beating Ball State at home by 8 is... Not great. ND will be fine. It seems like they always randomly struggle with a bad team here or there.
Washington Huskies I know Washington put up 45, but we still haven't seen their offense really pop yet this season. Offense will be something to keep an eye on with Conference play approaching. Defense seems to be solid though.
LSU Tigers LSU's offense didn't put up as many points as people expected this week, however the defense is more than making up for that. LSU's defense is awesome.
West Virginia Mountaineers This is where I had WVU last week, they'll hang here for now. Good looking offensive performance, and the defense is clearly better than last season.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State just destroyed Pitt in a rivalry game. Hard to do. Coach Franklin ran up the score just a bit on em, but still an impressive game.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU will have several narratives thrown at them this week. There's a couple different ways you can look at their Rivalry Win from Friday. Most people don't realize there was a ton of rain and a lightning delay. That's really tough to come out of and be explosive. On top of that it was a rivalry game. TCU doesn't drop for me, but I expect many people to drop them some.
Boise State Broncos BSU is really rolling heading into their BIG OOC game in Stillwater. That will definitely be my #EyesEmojiGameOfTheWeek
UCF Knights UCF is really good, like really good. We assume given their new coach that they'd have a good offense, but not enough people are talking about their defense.
Mississippi State Bulldogs Well, not many people knew what to expect in the Bulldogs match-up @ KState, but they made it look fairly easy. Their offense does just enough, and their defense is fairly nasty. MSU is trending way up for me.
Arizona State Sun Devils Huge win for ASU. They proved they can play defense and win close games.
Oregon Ducks Oregon's offense is legit. Still waiting for them to play a few tougher opponents, but I think they're good.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan beat up on a lesser opponent this week, but at least they showed some offensive life. That was my biggest question mark, and will be many other's question mark going forward.
Miami Hurricanes Miami whooped up on a bad team, but at least they found some offense.
Oklahoma State Cowboys OSU had some struggles with USA, but I still think they're a decent team. This game against Boise will be huge. #EyesEmjoiGameOfTheWeek
Utah Utes Utah won, but... it wasn't pretty. I'll keep them ranked for now.
Texas A&M Aggies I really hate ranking a team for "a good loss" it's the most SEC West thing ever, but I don't know who else to put here and A&M is legit. They'll win a lot of games this year if they play the way they did Saturday.
