Overall Rationale: At times my poll seems a little out there, but it's preseason and it's time for the hot takes. I could be horribly wrong about some teams or horribly correct. No poll is going to be perfect or on point with all their teams. I thought I'd give my best shot at it, even if it seems wacky at times.

1 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama is the top team until someone proves otherwise.
2 USC Trojans The Darnold is undeniable.
3 Florida State Seminoles
4 Clemson Tigers Without Watson they may not win a title, but they can come pretty darn close with the talent they have.
5 Ohio State Buckeyes Others are higher on the Buckeyes and I agree they are talented, but the end to last season leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I'm not convinced, yet.
6 Washington Huskies
7 Penn State Nittany Lions
8 Oklahoma Sooners Baker is silently setting historic efficiency numbers. The Sooners are always a tough out and I don't see much of a drop off, even with the coaching change.
9 Louisville Cardinals This may be out there, but Louisville returns talent and won't have as much pressure on them as last year. With an offseason to rest, they should return with a hot start.
10 Oklahoma State Cowboys
11 Miami Hurricanes One of the most talented teams, if they put it together then Miami can be dangerous.
12 Michigan Wolverines
13 Florida Gators
14 Wisconsin Badgers
15 West Virginia Mountaineers
16 LSU Tigers
17 Virginia Tech Hokies
18 Stanford Cardinal
19 USF Bulls They finished their historic year strong and with Strong leading them, USF can make some noise this season.
20 Georgia Bulldogs All the talent in the world, let's see if they can break out this year.
21 Texas Longhorns Promising young coach with talent behind him, could make a splash in his first year.
22 Colorado Buffaloes After their shocking year, the Buffaloes won't go unnoticed by anyone this year. Let's see if they can make last year into a winning tradition.
23 Oregon Ducks The Ducks could be back. I'm probably optimistic on their return to the top of college football.
24 Boise State Broncos The Broncos can never be counted out.
25 NC State Wolfpack The Wolfpack have garnered some attention this offseason. They have the talent, they have the hunger, maybe they'll just have a historic year.
