budget_um Ballot for 2026 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 2, 2026, 4:09 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Reset this week. There's enough data that there are clear tiers of teams. You really only get 2 or three out of these, mostly determined with a strength-of-record analysis coupled with the vibes test. First team out is Wisconsin. Oregon is near the list but not in it (yet) based purely on its wins.

Rank Team Reason
Utah Utes Undefeated
UCLA Bruins Undefeated
Miami Hurricanes Undefeated but UNC too scary
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Only loss to an unbeaten
Indiana Hoosiers Only loss to OSU on an inch
BYU Cougars Beat ND so above them despite UCF loss
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Only loss to BYU. Would be above BYU on losses, but head-to-head has to carry
Georgia Bulldogs Auburn loss was bad but good wins
Kentucky Wildcats Alabama loss wasn't that bad but fewer good wins
Texas Tech Red Raiders Lost to Cincy but beat Houston
Houston Cougars Lost to TT and Utah. Best two-loss team on SOOR
Texas Longhorns Bad losses but good wins
Tennessee Volunteers Lost to Texas but better losses and beat Bama
Alabama Crimson Tide Lost to Tennessee but arguably the best win of the bunch (UK). UK-Tennessee should resolve the tension
USC Trojans Beat OSU but some bad losses.
Ohio State Buckeyes Maybe second-best two losses but lost to USC, which couldn't beat a Wisconsin team Iowa just blanked
Arizona Wildcats BYU, TT. Pretty good but no clearly good wins
Ole Miss Rebels UF is a decent three-loss team to drop one to
Missouri Tigers Florida is better than Oregon, so Mizzou is better than Northwestern
Northwestern Wildcats Despite loss to Oregon, placed higher this week. I value UF over Oregon, but if that changes, so does this ranking
Iowa Hawkeyes OSU is worse than IU, and Iowa looked utterly incapable. Minnesota is holding them back. You can't lose to someone who got blown out by Purdue
Boise State Broncos Almost beat Oregon (which isn't great) but only one loss and a clear playoff contender
New Mexico Lobos No signature wins but really good stuff from Eck and Co. Loss to Oklahoma
South Carolina Gamecocks Better wins and losses than UF. Best three-loss team
Florida Gators Good but not best three-loss team
