FickleWolverine Ballot for 2026 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 1, 2026, 7:45 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Overall rankings based on resume, eye test, and metrics. Same methodology I've been using to rank the top 40 teams weekly for the past 3 years.

Rank Team Reason
Miami Hurricanes Undefeated, talented, bad schedule aside nobody has a better resume than them.
Utah Utes I thought they were struggling against inferior competition to start the year, but they've continued to win and look like a wagon right now. Resume is slightly better than UGA's due to UGA losing to unranked auburn.
Georgia Bulldogs Maybe the "best" team in the country. Have to knock them for the Auburn loss.
Kentucky Wildcats Played Alabama much closer than the score indicated, on a roll with wins against the middle tier of the SEC.
UCLA Bruins Undefeated, I had them ranked third in my rankings last week, but I've reevaluated their schedule and think UGA and UK deserve to be above them for the time-being. Was also a bit underwhelmed with the performance against Nevada.
BYU Cougars Beat ND, beat Arizona. They've struggled the past two weeks but there's no reason to drop them.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Resume took a huge hit this week, but they still have a dominant win over a team in my top 40 and a close, controversial loss to BYU. Obviously a talented team and the metrics love them.
Indiana Hoosiers Made it out of another one by the skin of their teeth. I don't think they're that good, but as long as they keep winning they'll stay up here.
Texas Longhorns Close losses to Florida and Oklahoma, but 3 top-20 wins gets you the top 10
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Dominant against all the ACC teams except for Miami
Tennessee Volunteers Defense looks unstoppable unless you're LaNorris Sellers, beat Bama and played So Car and Texas close.
Ohio State Buckeyes Losing to this USC team is bad, even if Luke Fahey is QB...
Ole Miss Rebels This team will go as far as their offense carries them. The Louisvile, LSU, and Mizzou are very good.
Alabama Crimson Tide Resume is a lot less impressive than one would assume, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think they were one of the 15 best teams/resumes in the country.
LSU Tigers No humongous wins, but they have the requisite "quality losses"... They are passing the eye-test of late, but we'll see in the next few weeks.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Got back in the win column with a good performance against a very respectable Arizona team, also beat Houston, that in part makes up for the loss vs Cincy.
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa seems eternally at #17, don't know how they lost to Minnesota, but after embarrassing Wisconsin they deserve to be back in the top 20.
USC Trojans Lincoln Riley you're not fired yet...
Houston Cougars Two close losses to top 20 teams, two wins against top 40 teams (Ore St, Ok St).
Boise State Broncos They just keep winning... even though they struggled mightily against Texas St, they are still the best G6 team in my eyes.
Missouri Tigers Their only big win is against Florida, the most up-and-down team in the SEC.
Arizona Wildcats Two close losses to the top of the Big 12, very impressive team offensively, have blown out all the lesser teams on their schedule.
Northwestern Wildcats I had NW 14th before losing to Oregon last week. They were the first team to show that IU was "stick-with-able". They're still 6-2 and top-20 in SP+... and nobody else in the top 30 has a better resume in my eyes
South Carolina Gamecocks Probably the hottest team in the country right now, I wouldn't want to play them. Two of their three losses were close.
New Mexico Lobos The only loss was by 8 to Oklahoma, beat NDSU, they have a great argument to replace Boise St as the G6 representative in the playoffs. They did just struggle with a bad SJSU team though...
