Overall Rationale: I believe we have enough datapoints to go for an entirely resume based ranking. Overall Record, SOS, Quality Wins, and who you lost to are going to be what factor in here.
| Rank | Team | Reason |

Miami Hurricanes
|
Let's start with our 3 undefeated teams this year. Miami beat Wake Forest, UCLA beat Oregon and Wisconsin, Utah beat Houston and Cincinnati. I am going to lean towards the team that has been the MOST tested in a singular game so far this year and that would be Miami against Wake. Last Week: #1 |
| 2 |
UCLA Bruins
|
Continuing on with that pattern, UCLA and Utah have basically the same resume. Do like UCLA's win a hair more than Utah's but I went back and forth here a good amount. Last Week: #3 |
| 3 |
Utah Utes
|
Read Above. Last Week: #4 |
| 4 |
Georgia Bulldogs
|
Georgia feels like the clear next team up after the undefeateds. Wins over Alabama and Florida as a 1 loss team does the speaking. Last Week: #6 |
| 5 |
Texas Longhorns
|
Muh SEC bias I can hear from miles away. Texas's wins are abused idc. Ohio St, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and UTSA! We reward good scheduling! Last Week: #10 |
| 6 |
Texas Tech Red Raiders
|
Had a fun time comparing these Big 12 contemporaries as they both have shaky losses and some good wins. Both have wins over Arizona and TTU beat Houston while BYU beat ND. Normally would lean towards the ND win but that UCF loss looks dreadful after this week and TTU's wins aren't THAT far behind. Last Week: #12 |
| 7 |
BYU Cougars
|
Read Above. Last Week: #5 |
| 8 |
Ohio State Buckeyes
|
Turns out the QB position may be important to winning. Loss this week doesn't erase the work they've done beating IU and Iowa earlier in the year but the upcoming schedule could kill the Buckeyes. Last Week: #2 |
| 9 |
Ole Miss Rebels
|
Pair of good wins against Missouri and LSU. Louisville win is starting to age better again as the season continues on. Last Week: #13 |
| 10 |
Indiana Hoosiers
|
Now onto our 1 loss teams who's resume is basically "we played a top 8 team super close". None of these three have really beaten anyone all that good. IU beat Northwestern, ND has beat Wisconsin, and Wake has beaten Louisville. Last Week: #8 |
| 11 |
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
|
No one wants to deal with another 10-2 ND team who lost to the two best teams they played....please beat Miami. Last Week: #7 |
| 12 |
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
|
Read IU excerpt. Last Week: #19 |
| 13 |
Tennessee Volunteers
|
The Alabama win is DRAGGING this resume to relevance. Last Week: #14 |
| 14 |
Alabama Crimson Tide
|
South Carolina getting hot is adding some needed depth to Bama's resume. Last Week: #15 |
| 15 |
Kentucky Wildcats
|
Same story applies to Kentucky. The H2H blowout loss to Bama is holding them back however. Last Week: #16 |
| 16 |
Oregon Ducks
|
Well hello 3 loss teams, good to be here. Oregon's wins still hold up the same way they did when they were a super high ranked two loss team for me earlier in the year. Especially with USC's result today along with Oregon beating Northwestern. Last Week: NR |
| 17 |
USC Trojans
|
SPEAKING of USC, lincoln riley must have realized he needs to win big games at some point. This resume was NONEXISTENT before today but Top 10 wins do many wonders! Last Week: NR |
| 18 |
LSU Tigers
|
Not much to add during LSU's bye week. The next 2 weeks are do or die for this resume cause the wins are NOT there yet. Last Week: #20 |
| 19 |
Missouri Tigers
|
Speaking of tough schedules. good lord Missouri has Texas, UGA, and Kentucky all in a row. Would be very Missouri to just lose all 3 and finish 7-5 and not ranked. Last Week: #21 |
| 20 |
Arizona Wildcats
|
Arizona and Houston might as well be the same team. Both losses to the top tier of the B12 while handling business against everyone else. Suppose I like the way Arizona has played marginally more. Last Week: #11 |
| 21 |
Houston Cougars
|
Read above. Last Week: #17 |
| 22 |
Iowa Hawkeyes
|
Winning 30-0 is certainly a good way to bounce back from a loss for easily the best win of their year and to slide back into the top 25. Last Week: NR |
| 23 |
South Carolina Gamecocks
|
Who thought SCar would be in serious top 25 conversations after their 2-3 start. But beating Tennessee and Florida does do a good job of making that case. Last Week: NR |
| 24 |
Florida Gators
|
The Texas and Ole Miss wins are good enough to keep them on the fringes of the Top 25 after their loss to UGA. Last Week: #9 |
| 25 |
Boise State Broncos
|
Oregon's jump back into the Top 25 gives Boise St enough room to squeeze back into the Top 15 over UTSA for that G5 spot. Last Week: NR Dropped: #18 Cincinnati, #22 Wisconsin, #23 UTSA, #24 Northwestern, #25 OkSt |
