SpursUpSoundsGudToMe Ballot for 2023 Week 12

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Nov. 14, 2023, 9:59 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Hybrid Poll, with some "eye test" if I think game flow/game control doesn't track with algorithm output.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Would now have UGA favored head to head at a neutral site against anyone by more than 3... incredible team, now rounding into form. They can win games in anyway that a situation may require.
Michigan Wolverines Obviously very good, but have not be tested by a single dynamic WR, have not had to chase a game and throw the ball yet either. Can't wait to see the game against Ohio St.
Ohio State Buckeyes See above. I think Ohio St is a lot like Penn St but with much much better skill positions.
Oregon Ducks I love this team, I totally buy the rumors of Lanning being the replacement for Saban when he retires.
Florida State Seminoles I think this team is kinda flawed but trusting the algorithm here.
Washington Huskies I'd have take Oregon -8.5 on a neutral site... very good team, but have shown some weakness on the lines. They could be in trouble against Oregon St.
Alabama Crimson Tide Survived a rocky start, but this team is rolling and putting up impressive numbers
Texas Longhorns Of course won head-to-head with Texas, but Alabama has been much more impressive since then.
Missouri Tigers Rumors of the SEC's demise were premature, this team is old as hell, must be an avg. age of like 23, but it's starting to show, they are good.
Louisville Cardinals Can't believe how ahead of schedule this team is, even better than I would have expected from year 4-5 of Brohm. Vibes are great, even if they lose the ACC (likely) a win against UK will send the vibes into the stratosphere in the Ville
Oregon State Beavers Really good, really tough, great coaching job this season. They have a great shot to knock off Washington at home.
Oklahoma Sooners Still an explosive team even after rough losses, put up great numbers
Penn State Nittany Lions I'm downgrading this team a lot from where the algo puts them. The offense simply can't do anything against good teams.
Ole Miss Rebels Boy they are clearly not ready to play with elite teams...
Tulane Green Wave Really good despite the one-score games. Still have them over JMU because I think the AAC is still a good bit tougher than the SBC across the board.
James Madison Dukes See above. Obviously great and will keep getting better. (Future ACC team?)
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Eh...
Arizona Wildcats Hot right now, capable of a lot, but the bad start is weighing them down
Kansas State Wildcats so up and down.
Utah Utes good tough team, would like to have seen them with their starting QB this year. too limited on offense to be higher.
LSU Tigers one-sided team, but that one side has the (should be) heisman favorite.
Tennessee Volunteers incomplete team. This team with Hooker as QB would be a serious contender.
Troy Trojans Great D, not as complete as JMU
Toledo Rockets MAC kinda stinks, but I really like what they are doing.
Kansas Jayhawks being forgiving of the QB injuries. They are still really good, LL is an elite coach
