CaptainScuttlebottom Ballot for 2023 Week 11

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 6, 2023, 9:58 p.m.

Overall Rationale: This is a vibes-based poll

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs I'm still giving them the top spot until they lose
Ohio State Buckeyes Them, Oregon, Washington, and Michigan have the most impressive resumes to me. The Buckeyes probably have the best wins though IMO so I'm putting them at the top.
Michigan Wolverines Ain't played nobody but also ain't played a close game yet
Washington Huskies
Oregon Ducks
Florida State Seminoles I think they're kind of overrated right now relative to their schedule, and we're only a few plays away vs. Clemson from this being a very different conversation, but they're still undefeated so they earned it.
Alabama Crimson Tide I guess they were just fucking around at the beginning of the season, they've looked a lot more like their old selves in SEC games lately.
Penn State Nittany Lions Their next / last big chance is beating Michigan so their position right now is kinda irrelevant.
Texas Longhorns Sadly I'm kind of back to thinking the whole Big 12 is just kinda mid. Texas' loss to OU looks worse and worse as time goes on, but also it's the RRS so you can't hold it against them too much.
Ole Miss Rebels
Tennessee Volunteers
LSU Tigers
Kansas Jayhawks Back to being really high on them after they beat OU, and their loss to OSU looks a lot better now too. I could easily see them winning out
Louisville Cardinals I keep sleeping on them and they keep beating people. I thought Duke was really good
Oregon State Beavers
Utah Utes They seem like they're kind of figuring it out maybe? Their big game is next week so we'll see
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I don't get these guys
Oklahoma State Cowboys Putting them above OU for obvious reasons, no idea what to make of them considering their earlier games
Oklahoma Sooners Defense has slipped (as a result of injuries I think) and the offense is predictably uninspired and mediocre, so sadly they're fading down the stretch a bit similar to last year.
Duke Blue Devils Another team that I think is really good, but has weird inexplicable losses that throw off my perception. I think their QB is also hurt so that makes it harder too.
Tulane Green Wave Green WAVE baby! NGL I haven't watched a single minute of them and I'm just ranking them bc everyone else was doing it and I wanted to be cool
North Carolina Tar Heels One of the more disappointing teams this year IMO, losing to Georgia Tech totally killed their momentum
Arizona Wildcats I think they were just underrated before, I thought they've looked pretty good since they played USC
James Madison Dukes Also haven't watched them at all but I want to be cool
USC Trojans Barely hanging on by the tips of their fingers, but you gotta give them some credit for firing Grinch
