Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Clemson Tigers | (0 Change from last week) They look really good again. I don’t foresee any team giving them trouble outside of maybe A&M next week, but I still think they might beat them by a couple touchdowns |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | (0) Aren't quite giving off the "Best Team of All Time" vibe that they were giving us at this time last year, but still look like they should win the SEC and might challenge Clemson in the Playoffs |
| Georgia Bulldogs | (0) Looked fine against Vandy, but who knows what that means. Wit the performance of the rest of the SEC East this weekend I think they could lose to Auburn and A&M and still win the East by a game or two. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | (0) Saw flashes of last years offence and defense didn't look terrible. Could easily see them in the playoffs again unless Texas can manage to beat them (maybe twice) |
| LSU Tigers | (+1) Beat Ga Southern handily. Didn't watch the game so I don't have any more analysis |
| Michigan Wolverines | (-1) Beat MTSU, but had a little trouble early. Still look good though |
| Utah Utes | (0) Defense looked great. Offense was sufficient. Wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the Washington game undefeated. I also realize that I may have Utah ranked to high, but I think their experience and schedule could pretty easily put them in the playoff discussion. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | (+1) Played easy team and won handily, Think they could easily be one of the top 10 teams in the country and simultaneously lose 5 games all to teams in the top 10. Their schedule does not look fun |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | (-1) Didn't look great in the first half against a team that was pretty bad last year. Seemed to figure it out in the second half  and looked pretty good |
| Auburn Tigers | (+15) Best win of the weekend. Auburn is a question mark and probably still is, but they have potential to be good. Could go 10-2. Could also go 6-6. |
| Stanford Cardinal | (+9) 2nd Best win of the weekend. Similar to Auburn as an unknown. But looked like they could win plenty of games this season |
| Wisconsin Badgers | (+12) Wisconsin had the most dominant win over a FBS school this weekend. USF made them look really good. If they keep playing like that they could win the B1G |
| Texas Longhorns | (-1) Took care of business. Only dropped to make room for better wins. If they beat LSU this weekend, they will be Top 5 most likely |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | (+1) Have OSU ranked low due to having a first year coach, but that doesn't seem to be a problem yet. Plenty of room to move up once they beat someone a little better than FAU (and also look good for more than just 1 quarter) |
| Washington Huskies | (-5) Honestly didn't watch or hear anything about their game. Only moved down to make room for teams who beat better teams |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | (-3) Also didn’t watch this one. Score makes them look dominant, but its Idaho so who knows. Also only moved down to make room for others |
| Michigan State Spartans | (0) Won by a descent margin. If their offense can figure themselves out they have potential to win the conference |
| Syracuse Orange | (+1) Beat Liberty by a fine margain. Nothing too impressive and no glaring issues. Look like the only team in the ACC that will be a remote challenge for Clemson |
| Florida Gators | (-5) Didn't look great against Miami. I don't know if it was just because it is week 0 or what. Looks like they could still easily go 8-4 with how bad every other team on their schedule played. Might also pull out a win over LSU or Auburn |
| Oregon Ducks | (-9) Looked like the better team for most of their game, but lost. Could still see them winning the PAC-12.  |
| Boise State Broncos | (+1) I thought BSU would beat FSU easily. Didn't quite do that, but still looked good. Could see them being undefeated entering championship weekend. |
| Memphis Tigers | (-1)  Thought they would beat Ole Miss by more. Should easily win the American West, but were relatively unimpressive |
| UCF Knights | (0) UCF destroyed inferior competition. The American should be fun to watch this year with UCF, Cincinnati, and Memphis |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | (NEW) Didn't watch their game. Score makes them look descent. Could win their division if they can beat Wisconsin |
| Cincinnati Bearcats | (NEW) Looked clearly superior to UCLA. American East champ should be the winner of UCF-Cinci   Dropped Out: Army and Iowa State   Next 5: Washington State, Virginia, Army, Iowa State, and Northwestern |
