Muffinnnnnnn Ballot for 2026 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 3, 2026, 2:37 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter most. If you have the same record as a team and beat them head-to-head, you must be ahead of that team. This was impossible to do in previous weeks but this week, unless I overlooked something, it is perfectly doable again.

Despite the chaos of this season, I felt like this was a much easier week to put together than some previous ones. Ohio State, my previous #1 team, is now down, and despite it all, they actually ended up underneath Texas again. Who saw that coming? USC rockets up above them into the rankings off that win. I don't REALLY fully believe in USC, so they're probably too high, but atm they have 1 ok loss, 1 bad loss, and 1 great win. It's hard to know what to do with them, but after their domination of Ohio State, they simply have to be above them. Miami is a happy recipient of refball every week, and even so they are only scraping by. It feels inevitable that a loss for them is coming, and I happen to think it's coming this week. The 2-loss SEC team conga line is actually straightforward this week. Texas beat Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Ohio State. Tennessee beat Alabama. Alabama didn't beat any 2-loss SEC teams, but did hand 1-loss Kentucky a blowout loss. Ole Miss beat LSU and Mizzou. Mizzou and LSU haven't really beaten anyone of note, and frankly could be lower, but I'll keep them around #20 until they beat someone notable or lose again. Rejoining my rankings this week are Iowa and Liberty, replacing Florida and SMU. Both teams scored blowout wins to vault them up. This upcoming week will certainly answer a ton of questions with the sheer number of ranked matchups. I can't wait!
