GeauxTri Ballot for 2026 Week 10

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Nov. 1, 2026, 8:31 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Resume-based computer ranking through all games completed October 31, 2026. All 138 FBS teams are considered. Opponent quality uses current power strength rather than game-time ranking, so prior results are continuously revalued. Wins receive the greatest weight, especially against elite opponents. Losses are always negative but scale with opponent strength. Road wins receive a modest premium; margin is only a limited tiebreaker.

Rank Team Reason
Miami Hurricanes 8-0. Unbeaten after winning 38-35 at North Carolina, with prior wins over Wake Forest and Clemson.
Utah Utes 8-0. Added a 49-25 road win at Cincinnati, plus wins over Houston and Iowa State.
UCLA Bruins 8-0. Shut out Nevada 27-0; the road win at Oregon remains the centerpiece.
Kentucky Wildcats 7-1. Wins over LSU, Texas A&M and Oklahoma form the deepest high-end win collection. Only loss is to Alabama.
Indiana Hoosiers 8-1. Beat Minnesota 23-16 in overtime; only loss is a close defeat to Ohio State.
Georgia Bulldogs 7-1. Beat Florida 27-8; owns an elite road win at Alabama plus Oklahoma. Home loss to Auburn is the blemish.
Ole Miss Rebels 6-2. Crushed Auburn 45-15; wins over LSU and Missouri remain high-value. Losses are Florida and Texas.
Texas Longhorns 6-2. Beat Mississippi State 31-3; owns wins over Ohio State, Tennessee and Ole Miss. Losses are Oklahoma and Florida.
Texas Tech Red Raiders 7-1. Beat Arizona 34-26; Houston remains a valuable win. Only loss is at Cincinnati.
BYU Cougars 7-1. Beat Arizona State 27-20; Notre Dame remains an elite win, but the overtime loss at UCF is costly.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-1. Won 35-13 at Navy and is No. 1 in current FPI. Only loss is to BYU; lacks the win depth above.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons 7-1. Beat Virginia 51-7; only loss is to unbeaten Miami, with wins at Louisville and California.
LSU Tigers 6-2. Wins over Texas A&M, Mississippi State and at Auburn remain valuable; losses are Ole Miss and Kentucky.
Tennessee Volunteers 6-2. Alabama remains an elite win, with Auburn and Arkansas adding depth; South Carolina is the damaging loss.
Alabama Crimson Tide 6-2. Wins over Kentucky, Mississippi State and Texas A&M remain valuable; losses are Georgia and Tennessee.
USC Trojans 7-2. Beat Ohio State 30-18, an enormous resume addition; also won at Penn State. Losses are Oregon and Wisconsin.
Ohio State Buckeyes 6-2. Elite road win at Indiana plus Iowa; loss at USC joins the one-point loss at Texas.
Houston Cougars 6-2. Wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State; losses came against Texas Tech and undefeated Utah.
Boise State Broncos 7-1. Beat Texas State 46-45 to reach seven wins; strong record but fewer elite wins than teams above.
Missouri Tigers 6-2. Won 34-10 at Arkansas; Florida remains a valuable win. Losses are Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
Iowa Hawkeyes 6-2. Blanked Wisconsin 30-0, adding to Michigan and Iowa State wins. Losses are Ohio State and Minnesota.
Florida Gators 5-3. Wins over Texas, Ole Miss and Auburn are excellent, but three losses cap the ranking.
Northwestern Wildcats 6-2. Lost 34-26 at Oregon; Penn State remains the best win, but the second loss weakens the resume.
UTSA Roadrunners 7-1. Seven wins and one loss earn the final spot; schedule is lighter than the teams above.
Oregon Ducks 5-3. Beat Northwestern 34-26; the road USC win has appreciated after USC beat Ohio State, but Oregon has three losses.
