Muffinnnnnnn Ballot for 2024 Week 12

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 12, 2024, 3:11 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter most. If you have the same record as a team and beat them head-to-head, you must be ahead of that team. The Texas A&M-LSU-South Carolina circle feels a bit bad, and I took a lot of time to consider it. Really, South Carolina was robbed against LSU and should be sitting at 2 losses with an outside shot at the playoffs if everything falls right. Instead, I put them at the bottom of the top 25. I still keep the LSU > South Carolina since they both have three losses, with TAMU at the top due to having one less loss, even though South Carolina just murdered them. Pitt and Iowa State, both similar in their great start without any ranked wins and then 2 game losing streak, fell out of my top 25 in favor of Tulane and South Carolina. Really, leaving off Tulane last week was probably a mistake, so that's more of a correction. Kansas State had a bad loss to Houston, but that's offset by the "quality loss" to BYU plus wins over Tulane and Colorado, both on the road. Now, the Tulane game was also lowkey stolen in a similar fashion to South Carolina-LSU, but I do respect the final result. I once again shifted Ohio State ahead of Indiana due to the shaky performance from the Hoosiers and the dominating performance from the Buckeyes, but that will be settled soon enough. I give a lot of respect to undefeated teams like Army. I don't care that they've had a weak schedule, we'll find out what they're made of vs Notre Dame soon. Once again I'll explain that I treat Miami worse due to their ref-assisted wins, and now they've fallen even more due to their loss to GT. I expect to be under the average, but maybe Miami won't be my biggest outlier anymore now that people are recognizing their fraudness. Anyway, I'm sure there will be some surprise in the r/CFB rankings that I won't be expecting, so I'll probably be discussing it in the comment tomorrow afternoon. Be sure to tell me how stupid I am!
