Overall Rationale: Try to match efficiency metrics with quality of wins and losses. Basically an objective ranking, with an eye test tweak. Another weird week near the top without a lot of action in the middle. Happy to say I was on top of Ole Miss being underrated, but I can't really keep them above Bama (now #1 by most metrics) after that performance. BYU is the toughest to rank - continues to outperform expectation and just scrape by. I wanted to move them down this week, but Texas' loss to Georgia got worse, and ND still has NIU hanging over them. Still top 5, but thin ice. Dropped out: LSU (16 - probably should realistically still be ranked based on metrics but there were other teams I wanted to work in. Back to back losses is particularly tough in my book), Pitt (17 - also back to back and far worse opponent. 5th down notwithstanding, horrible loss), Iowa State (19 - ALSO back to back, hated this team most of the year and now playing two real opponents in a row, of course they lost both), Vanderbilt (25 - loss). New this week: Louisville (20 - playing well at the right time), Arizona State (23 - stringing together some nice wins), Kansas State (24) & Missouri (25 - Best of the remaining 2 loss teams. Not super inspiring but I think they deserve to be there until they lose again). Next few out, in order: LSU, Louisiana, UNLV, Iowa State, Pitt
