1 Oregon Ducks We don't have to explain this.
2 Ohio State Buckeyes If wins & losses didn't matter, these guys would be #1.
3 Penn State Nittany Lions Because of that, the loss to Ohio State doesn't hurt, but Penn State needs a better win than USC to move up. They may not get it until the first round of the playoff.
4 Indiana Hoosiers This is an elite team, save for pass defense. They'll have another week in the Top 5 before going to Columbus for a B1G Championship playoff game.
5 BYU Cougars This is a mediocre offense that, yes, can score, and yes, can stop the pass, but this is a 20-25 ranked team that just. doesn't. lose.
6 Georgia Bulldogs Fortunately, the better the longhorns play, the more that win offsets the losses.
7 Texas Longhorns If wins & losses didn't count, these guys would be #2. They are elite, dominant (except on the rush game), and their most quality win is against... Oklahoma?
8 Boise State Broncos Run run run, win win win, hope Oregon doesn't lose.
9 Tennessee Volunteers They've finally made up for the Arkansas loss and have their last real test going to Athens this week.
10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish The spreadsheet remembers Northern Illinois. Turns out Louisville was a great win, after all.
11 Army West Point Run run run, win win win, as they get past their toughest opponent of the season in... University of North Texas.
12 Miami Hurricanes The Georgia Tech loss more than offset those wins.
13 Alabama Crimson Tide They still haven't made up for losing to the state of Tennessee, but they'll hold in the low teens.
14 SMU Mustangs Pitt is their second-best win, but they're still working off the BYU loss.
15 Ole Miss Rebels I've been saying for weeks that this is the best bad team. They'd be Top-10 easily, but they lost to Kentucky & LSU.
16 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns This is where you land if you're a mediocre team with solid pass defense who only lost to Tulane.
17 Washington State Cougars This is where you land if you can pass well enough to keep up in a boat race and you only lost to the team that only lost to Oregon.
18 Texas A&M Aggies LSU doesn't looks like the quality win it did before... Aggies lose the bye week.
19 LSU Tigers Three losses... time to fatten up on the rest of the season in preparation for the Citrus Bowl.
20 Arizona State Sun Devils Evidently Texas State is a quality win.
21 Missouri Tigers They eked it out against the sooners, adding another win that's nearly as impressive as their top win versus... Auburn.
22 Clemson Tigers Louisville is another top team who just lost too much, and their loss hurts about as much as Georgia. The South Carolina game will be a fun barometer.
23 Colorado Buffaloes Welcome back to the Top 25! Their top win is against Cincinnati; it looks like they'll have a shot against BYU to back door into the playoff.
24 South Carolina Gamecocks The Ole Miss loss looks better now.
25 Kansas State Wildcats The Colorado win looks much better now, but that UH loss... sheesh.
