Overall Rationale: I watch games all day Saturday then for the games I don't watch I go through the games play-by-play (plus read articles; listen to podcasts) to see what happened instead of just looking at the box score. Every 4 weeks I also do a "reset of my polls to make sure I'm looking at everything from film to SOS to key wins. For my preseason poll, it will be a combination of players/coaches returning + incoming players (recruiting class + transfer portal).

1 Georgia Bulldogs Last Week - #2 // W 34 - 3 vs #13 Clemson // W 48 - 3 vs Tennessee Tech Flipped from #2 to #1 because they currently have the best win of the season with the drumming of #13 Clemson.
2 Ohio State Buckeyes Last Week - #1 // W 52 - 6 vs Akron // W 56 - 0 vs Western Michigan Going as expected.
3 Texas Longhorns Last Week - #4 // W 52 - 0 vs Colorado State // W 31 - 12 at #15 Michigan Dominate win at Michigan, and will be very interesting to watch them compete in the SEC this season.
4 Ole Miss Rebels Last Week - #5 // W 76 - 0 vs Furman // W 52 - 3 vs MTSU Going as expected.
5 Missouri Tigers Last Week - #6 // W 51 - 0 vs Murray State // W 38 - 0 vs Buffalo Going as expected.
6 Tennessee Volunteers Last Week - #19 // W 69 - 3 vs Chattanooga // W 51 - 10 at #23 NC State People need to remember that early season polls are crazy when they see a jump from #19 to #6. This basically happened because I thought Tennessee would beat NC State, but this was never a real game from the start.
7 Alabama Crimson Tide Last Week - #10 // W 63 - 0 vs Western Kentucky // W 42 - 16 vs USF The first half was vs USF was questionable, but they jumped Utah because they were able to "flip the switch" in the second half.
8 Utah Utes Last Week - #6 // W 49 - 0 vs Southern Utah // W 23 - 12 vs Baylor Struggling against Baylor at home isn't what a playoff contender should be doing.
9 USC Trojans Last Week - #16 // W 27 - 20 vs #12 LSU // W 48 - 0 vs Utah State Solid win vs LSU then followed it up when a dominate performance vs a good G5 team in Utah State.
10 Miami Hurricanes Last Week - #18 // W 41 - 17 at Florida // W 56 - 9 vs Florida A&M Great start to the season by my Canes. Destroying Florida in the Swamp was amazing to see.
11 Oregon Ducks Last Week - #3 // W 24 - 14 vs Idaho // W 37 - 34 vs Boise State Dropped 8 spots because they struggled in back to back weeks against teams that they should be handling (this is also mainly due to the Idaho game).
12 Penn State Nittany Lions Last Week - #8 // W 34 - 12 at West Virginia // W 34 - 27 vs Bowling Green Penn State struggling vs Bowling Green after blowing out West Virginia is the reason why most of us love college football.
13 Kansas State Wildcats Last Week - #14 // W 41 - 6 vs UT Martin // W 34 - 27 at Tulane Either Tulane is better than everyone thinks this season, or Kansas State is overrated. We will find out by the end of September.
14 Oklahoma State Cowboys Last Week - #17 // W 44 - 20 vs South Dakota State // W 39 - 31 vs Arkansas Moved them up to #14 mainly because so many teams in front lost and so many teams behind them also had near losses.
15 LSU Tigers Last Week - #12 // L 20 - 27 vs #16 USC // W 44 - 21 vs Nicholls Did not want to put them down too much because they did lose to my (now) #9 team, but they do have a few question marks on both sides of the ball that need to be addressed before their SEC schedule kicks in.
16 Boston College Eagles Last Week - NR // W 28 - 13 at #11 FSU // W 56 - 0 vs Duquesne Is this an overreaction? Maybe. Is this just me propping them up for beat FSU in dominate fashion at FSU? Possibly. Either way, they are a fun team to watch right now.
17 Oklahoma Sooners Last Week - #20 // W 51 - 3 vs Temple // W 16 - 12 vs Houston Scoring 16 pts against Houston at home is inexcusable. Very tough to rank them above Clemson & Michigan.
18 Clemson Tigers Last Week - #13 // L 3 - 34 vs #2 Georgia // W 66 - 20 vs Appalachian State Dropping 66 pts against a good G5 school is a nice bounce back after getting nothing down vs Georgia (but a lot of teams would look like that vs Georgia).
19 Michigan Wolverines Last Week - #15 // W 30 - 10 vs Fresno State // L 12 - 34 vs #4 Texas They should have a bounce back week vs Arkansas State, but they might hit a buzz saw vs USC in two weeks.
20 Iowa State Cyclones Last Week - NR // W 21 - 3 vs North Dakota // W 20 - 19 vs #24 Iowa Perfect football played for a team in the state of Iowa.
21 Syracuse Orange Last Week - NR // W 38 - 22 vs Ohio // W 31 - 28 vs Georgia Tech Kyle McCord has this offense looking very good. Between them and BC, there have been nice surprises in the early season from the ACC.
22 Nebraska Cornhuskers Last Week - NR // W 40 - 7 vs UTEP // W 28 - 10 vs Colorado This ranking should be clear that it's very early in the season. UTEP looks like a bottom 10 FBS team again, and Colorado is overrated like last season. However, I would like to see Nebraska do well again, so I hope their success continues.
23 Louisville Cardinals Last Week - NR // W 62 - 0 vs Austin Peay // W 49 - 14 vs Jacksonville State Going as expected.
24 Northern Illinois Huskies Last Week - NR // W 54 - 15 vs Eastern Illinois // W 16 - 14 at #7 Notre Dame It looked like Notre Dame's game plan was "I should be better no matter what, so let me make my new QB look good today" and it completely backfired.
25 Illinois Fighting Illini Last Week - NR // W 45 - 0 vs Eastern Illinois // W 23 - 17 vs #22 Kansas I thought about a few teams here: Arizona, Boise State, Memphis, and South Carolina. However, I thought it would be fitting that Illinois would take Kansas' spot in the top 25 after beating them.
