HopefulReb76 Ballot for 2024 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 9, 2024, 2:38 a.m.

Overall Rationale: 1.) Georgia - Handled a decent Clemson team if it wasn't for their performance this week they would be number 2. 2.) Texas - Very dominant team and handled Michigan in the big house with no issue. 3.) Ohio - Some early hurdles but, they seem to be pulling it together 4.) Tennessee - Team looks to be really be clicking with Nico at helm. Great offense and defense for first two games and they could very well be in the SEC championship with continued performance. 5.) Bama - Seems to still be a great team under Deboer. Just some things that need to be cleaned up from the player/coaches 6.) Ole Miss - Very strong offense and mostly improved defense. Secondary still leaves questions for tougher opponents. 7.) Mizzou - Two shutouts and overall a very great team that will be dangerous under Eli D as we have seen. 8.) Penn State - Left something to be desired but, I think the team is improving and getting into the swing of things with new team mates. They show bursts of phenomenal play. 9.) Miami - So far appears to be the front runner with Clemson for ACC championship route but far too early. 10.) Oregon seems to have some struggles with Dillion Gabriel pulling a decent amount of the weight. Ducks may just need more time to work out some kinks. 11.) Arizona - So far has been a strong performing team but, they did have struggles against North Arizona this week. 12.) Wash St. - I am trying to stay away from to much of the pre-season polls to take the SOR and performance into play. I think Wash St will win the PAC2. 13.) USC - Won against an LSU team that sort of shot themselves in their feet but, USC finally has a defense and had their first shutout games in years. 14.) Louisville - Great team but, should be more interesting with the next few weeks approaching 15.) Michigan - Had a quality loss against Texas this week. Will be interesting to see where things go in Ann Arbor the rest of this season with having replaced not only a good bit of the team but the HC as well after a Natty* win. 16.) Kansas State - A close game in New Orleans but, they pulled it off. 17.) Clemson - Is a better team then some may have thought after the loss to Georgia. Their W this weekend was not only impressive but contributes to Georgias Resume. 18.) Oklahoma - A very worrisome game against Houston but, they did scrape by but, I think this team will have development in the next few weeks. 19.) Illinois - Good things are happening with Altmeyer in Illinois with a ranked AP win over Kansas with central Michigan and Nebraska in the next two weeks this team could really start to pop off. 20.) Utah - I am a little lower on I still think they can run it for the BIG12. 21.) Memphis - Memphis is looking like a really good team. Good things are coming out of the city 22.) LSU - BK needs to work on things with his team especially on flags. If the properly used Perkins on defense this would be a lot better team. Offense is great but, still working out some growing pains. 23.) Iowa State - Beat the great Punters of Iowa who seemed to have an improved offense but, it appears Iowa State is the better team in the state this year. 24.) Nebraska - Nebraska seems to be a real unit this year so far. They do however have to score after halftime on a win less Colorado team that is still over-hyped. 25.) NI - Beat a previously ranked ND team. Will need to see more happen with this team to buy into the stock. I am trying to use majority strength of record which at this point is not the best indicator. I did watch a lot of games and am trying to factor in some of the struggles seen on teams. Bama would be lower if they didn't run it up at the end. More games are needed for the #3-#8 positions to decide more accurate placements. Since I am going off SOR I do feel that Wazzu belongs as does Illinois.
