Ballot Type: Human
Submitted: Sept. 8, 2024, 10:52 a.m.
Overall Rationale: Try to match efficiency metrics with quality of wins and losses. Basically an objective ranking, with an eye test tweak. New this week: Clemson (18), Iowa State (20), South Carolina (24), BC (25). Dropped out: Kentucky (18, loss), SMU (19, loss), Iowa (22, loss), Auburn (24, loss). Next few out, roughly in order: UCF, Washington, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Cal, BYU, Arkansas
| Rank | Team | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Georgia Bulldogs
Still see no reason to move them off #1, especially with Clemson's performance. But certainly a case to be made for Texas |
| 2 |
Texas Longhorns
| 3 |
Ohio State Buckeyes
| 4 |
Ole Miss Rebels
| 5 |
Tennessee Volunteers

Really impressed with their defense, efficiency metrics seem to be catching up on that. Score was more dominant than the game indicated but 41 points is 41 points. |

Not moving them based on the Rising injury until we know more. In reality, they should probably be down a bit but I'm not punishing them based off a theoretical. |
| 12 |
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Still high on this team, despite whatever that was this weekend. |
| 13 |
Kansas State Wildcats
| 14 |
Oregon Ducks
High on this team too, personally, but 2 weeks of it not being there at all is enough for me to slide you down |
| 15 |
Louisville Cardinals
| 16 |
Oklahoma Sooners
| 17 |
Michigan Wolverines
No change from last week. I think this is more a "Texas-is-that-good", and the numbers reflect this is about their true position anyway |
| 18 |
Clemson Tigers
See Michigan, I probably unfairly dropped them last week. Clearly still something here. |
| 19 |
Nebraska Cornhuskers
| 20 |
Iowa State Cyclones
| 21 |
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Very hard to rank, considering the week 1 win @ A&M is still pretty good? And the numbers still have them pretty efficient? But I'm not sure they're going to be able to score on anyone. |
| 22 |
Arizona Wildcats
Could probably drop out, two bad weeks already, but that offense is still good enough to warrant a spot |
| 23 |
LSU Tigers
| 24 |
South Carolina Gamecocks
| 25 |
Boston College Eagles
