GatorBolt Ballot for 2023 Week 14

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 26, 2023, 9:06 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs A Third Straight 12-0 Regular Season got wrapped up in Atlanta. Just an impressive run for Kirby Smart, but now his mentor awaits.
Michigan Wolverines Gutsy win to make it three in a row in The Game. And with everything going on, this has to feel extra good.
Washington Huskies Another Houdini act for Washington, but they impressively complete a 12-0 Regular Season. And now a rematch against the hated Ducks awaits.
Florida State Seminoles Gutsy road win in the Swamp. Now only a Louisville reeling off an upset lies between the Seminoles and the playoff.
Ohio State Buckeyes I can't drop them too far for losing by a possession at Michigan. Of course the extra games will give Oregon, Texas, and Alabama a chance to move up with wins, but for now they're here.
Oregon Ducks A blowout win to cap off the last conference Civil War was impressive. And now they get a shot at redemption against the hated Huskies.
Texas Longhorns All Gas No Brakes very much described what happened in Austin against Tech. And now, while they need a tiny bit of help, the Big 12 Title Game awaits and a chance to make a bid for the playoff.
Alabama Crimson Tide I'll never understand how Milroe made that last throw. Jordan-Hare Voodoo is real (unless you're New Mexico State apparently.) And now a chance to create some chaos in Atlanta awaits.
Oklahoma Sooners A 10-2 regular season with a win against Texas has been completed. Very much a successful bounce back for year 2 of Venables. Still, the KU and Bedlam losses will have a cloud of "what if" for the Sooners this season.
Missouri Tigers A 10-2 regular season completed and a real chance at an NY6. Very much a giant success for Drinkwitz.
Ole Miss Rebels A good Egg Bowl win to cap off a 10-2 season for Kiffin. Now a chance at an NY6 awaits.
Penn State Nittany Lions 10-2 with losses to Michigan and Ohio State seems to be the new normal in Happy Valley. Still with all things considered 10-2 is almost always a success, even if Penn State seems to be destined to be the bridesmaid.
Louisville Cardinals Rivalry Week is a good way to sour what was a good regular season. While Louisville always needed the most help to get in the playoff after the Pitt loss, it has to sting extra that Kentucky was the one to provide the final kill for any playoff hope. Still, Charlotte and FSU awaits.
LSU Tigers Jayden Daniels was electric to watch all year, and in my book he put the finishing touches on a Heisman against the Aggies.
Iowa Hawkeyes Dread it, run from it. 10-2 Iowa arrives all the same.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good win against Stanford to cap off a solid regular season.
Arizona Wildcats Blowout win in the Territorial Cup to cap off Jed Fisch's turnaround 3rd season and finish 9-3.
Liberty Flames A 12-0 Regular season has been completed. But now a rematch against New Mexico State is all that stands between the Flames and their first Conference Title.
Tulane Green Wave A good win against UTSA, and now the Mustangs of SMU await between the Wave and back to back AAC titles.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Thrilling win against BYU to book a trip to Arlington where they have a chance to make one of the weirder seasons I've seen even weirder with a conference title.
Oregon State Beavers Pain.
James Madison Dukes Good way to rebound from last week's heartbreak against Coastal.
Toledo Rockets Good win against Central Michigan, now Miami of Ohio stands between the Rockets and a MAC title.
NC State Wolfpack Under the radar a good 9-3 season was achieved in Raleigh, bookended by smothering their in-state rival UNC.
SMU Mustangs Well a chance at a conference title would be a good way to prepare for the ACC jump
