Overall Rationale: Each week I re-rank teams on their resume. I'll be on the controversial list early, but it gets more and more like everyone else's the more games that are played.

1 Auburn Tigers Auburn is 4-0 with wins over Oregon (3-1), Texas A&M (2-2) and also a pretty decent looking Tulane team that is 3-1. 
2 LSU Tigers 4-0. Best win is at Texas who is now 3-1 with a solid win over Oklahoma State. Also defeated Vanderbilt. 
3 California Golden Bears Cal is 4-0 with wins at Washington (3-1) and at Ole Miss (2-2). they have a big game with Oregon in a couple weeks that could really start the Cal hype train. 
4 Georgia Bulldogs 4-0. Best win is over Notre Dame (2-1). I think that the ND win could end up being better than the Texas win for LSU or the Washington win for Cal as ND continues through their schedule, but for now I'm giving those wins the nod as they were on the road and ND's resume is a bit incomplete with only 3 games in.
5 Wisconsin Badgers Badgers make a big move by giving an absolute ass whooping to previously undefeated Michigan. 
6 Kansas State Wildcats 3-0 with a win on the road at 3-1 Mississippi State. Kansas state might slip a bit this week if Miss State loses to Auburn and that win is a bit less impressive. K State also has an important game of their own against Oklahoma State. 
7 Ohio State Buckeyes Blowing out everybody that comes their way. Best win right now is over 3-1 Indiana. That likely won't look like a very good win pretty soon. Buckeyes may hang around here or slip as other teams get real wins. They play Wisconsin at the end of October and that will make a big move for one of those teams.
8 Clemson Tigers Clemson's resume take a shot with Texas A&M getting beat by Auburn. Still likely the best team in the nation. 
9 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama is 4-0 and killing people but aren't really playing anyone. Best win right now is over 2-1 Duke. 
10 Virginia Cavaliers Virginia is likely a bit too high, but they are 4-0 with wins over Pitt (looking a bit better this week) and FSU (ditto). Have a chance to make a big statement this week with a game at Notre Dame. 
11 Boise State Broncos Boise is 4-0 and picked up a nice win over Air Force (2-1 with a win over Colorado). Also have a win at Florida State. 
12 SMU Mustangs SMU is 4-0 and jumps way up into the poll with a really nice win over TCU.
13 Iowa Hawkeyes Undefeated. Best win is over Iowa State. 
14 Florida Gators Gators are 4-0 with wins over Miami (2-2) and Kentucky (2-2). 
15 Oklahoma Sooners Undefeated. Killing terrible teams. UCLA got a nice win this weekend but they still stink. They play Texas in a couple weeks and the winner will have a big resume booster. 
16 Penn State Nittany Lions 3-0. Best win is over Pitt. 
17 Texas Longhorns My highest ranked team with a loss, Texas got a nice win over Oklahoma State this weekend. (3-1). Their only loss is to LSU. 
18 Memphis Tigers 3-0. They're win over Ole Miss is not quite as good this week now that Cal beat them too. 
19 Wake Forest Demon Deacons 4-0. Best win is over 2-2 North Carolina. 
20 USC Trojans USC is weird. Their loss to BYU is the worst loss for any team I've got ranked but their win over Utah this weekend is impressive. 
21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame lost a close one on the road against Georgia. Their best win is over Louisville. 
22 Washington Huskies Washington's only loss is at home to Cal. Best win is over BYU. 
23 Colorado Buffaloes Loss at home to Air Force is rough. They have a couple nice wins though over Nebraska and Arizona State. 
24 Oregon Ducks Only loss is to Auburn. Best win is over 3-1 Nevada. 
25 Mississippi State Bulldogs 3-1. Lost to Kansas state. Best win is Kentucky (2-2)
