Overall Rationale: Wild Week 4.No Longer Ranked:  BYU - UCF - Washington State
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Clemson Tigers | I mean at this point I don't have much to say about spots 1 and 2.  Alabama will probably finish as #1 if they win out just because they will have a tougher schedule but nothing has changed about the 1a/1b situation from last year. |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Copy and paste the Clemson answer here. |
| LSU Tigers | Well I still think LSU over Texas is a better win than Auburn beating Oregon and Texas A&M (poor A&M), especially how good they looked doing it so they keep spot #3 but just by a hair. |
| Auburn Tigers | They also get to stay #4 because they beat a Texas A&M team that is better than the record shows. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Georgia gets a good win against Notre Dame, wasn't super close but also wasn't a blow out.  Weird game from an expectations perspective.  That said I think that said more about Notre Dame than Georgia.  Still the Sooners were on a bye and thats a tougher team than Ohio State has played so Georgia got a bump. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | WISCONSIN IS BACK BABY.  Just beat Michigan handily and showed what they can do against not terrible opposition.  Taylor is also stupid good. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | They destroyed another team they should and did it in just as stellar a fashion as before but Wisconsin impressed more with how they handled UM (and seriously, like can't rank you guys higher if you play 0 good teams.  Looked top 4 but don't have the resume to back it up). |
| Oklahoma Sooners | Had a bye this week so movement down was just from other results (namely good wins from both Georgia and Wisconsin). |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Team also on the bye but keeps same rank.  I am super intrigued how B1G play treats them because I still think Pitt's D is legit good. |
| Oregon Ducks | You really should have beat Stanford by more.  Still not high on this team. |
| Florida Gators | Handled Tennessee with their backup QB and looked good doing it.  Running game is still not great.  Just behind Oregon, like almost considered jumping them close. |
| Texas Longhorns | Texas up 2 spots in their climb to have Red River be a top 10 matchup,  OK State is a dangerous team if not a great one and that is a solid win. |
| California Golden Bears | ONLY UNDEFEATED PAC-12 TEAM AND FUTURE ROSE BOWL WINNERS CAL PEOPLE. |
| Boise State Broncos | Up a few points, just ahead of Wake and UVA (I basically saw all 3 resumes and ranked 14-16 I think this group is that close right now). |
| Wake Forest Demon Deacons | Undefeated Wake? UNDEFEATED WAKE! |
| Virginia Cavaliers | I think preseason Coastal favorite is almost under the radar now?  Probably a good thing but still on pace for a great year (now beat VT).  Also I think ODU could be a seriously good team in the next few years. |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | Bye week for Iowa and got to move up thanks to lots of people losing.  I honestly dont think this is a great Iowa team but damn if they somehow dont finish in the top 20 anyway because Iowa. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | They looked good, still lost and dropped but I think they are better than I originally gave them credit for.  I think they may be a legit team around 8-12 rank depending on how other teams finish the season. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Only 2 loss team in my top 25 but you get that when your loses or to Clemson and Auburn (both in my top 4).  This team is better than their record (or at least I will say that until they lose to a team not currently in my top 5) |
| Utah Utes | Utah everyone believed and you did that, damn USC and weird QB play.  Could be worse though, could be Wazzu. |
| Memphis Tigers | Still undefeated, still feel they should somehow not be ranked.  All love Memphis. |
| USC Trojans | I still think BYU is pretty dang good and USC shouldn't be in the top 25 but here we are. |
| Michigan Wolverines | This team might legit be only decent and thats kinda great. |
| SMU Mustangs | First 4-0 start since the death penalty, a pan, whats not to love? |
| Washington Huskies | Washington right back in the top 25.  So for positions 22-25 (actually about 29 with all the teams I considered for this spot) I just pulled up their resume/schedule so far and ranked them.  This is what you got.  Washington back at 25.  They really did beat the doors of BYU though and that isn't nothing, especially on the road.  This year is so much more exciting than last year. |
