iliketoupvotepuns Ballot for 2019 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 16, 2019, 6:43 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I put reasoning behind certain teams ranks.

Rank Team Reason
1 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama didn't looked less like a woodchipper and more like an axe on Saturday, but they cut South Carolina to pieces just the same. They didn't run the ball well and their defense looked a little off, but if there is anything I am not worried about for Alabama long term it is those two areas.
2 Clemson Tigers The ACC looks baaaaaad. To be honest, outside of Clemson, the Mountain West(or Mountain Best, if you prefer) looks better than the ACC does, and maybe even the American too. But bad conferences aside, Clemson is a goooood football team and will cruise into the playoff assuming an unthinkable upset doesn't happen. That said, Clemson does look weaker to me than last year.
3 Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma's offense: scary. Oklahoma's defense: starting to resemble something worth of the P5 level. Jalen Hurts has been better than I could have envisioned, but the Big 12 looks pretty deep. Oklahoma has the talent to run the table, but do they have the consistency to do so?
4 LSU Tigers For a half, LSU looked as if they were in a lull. Then, Jeaux Burreaux turned it on and the Tigers scored points. Yikes.
5 Georgia Bulldogs LSU had their OOC statement win just a couple of weeks ago. Georgia has theirs on deck against Notre Dame. If Georgia wins, is it time to consider the possibility of a three SEC team playoff? Probably not, but it would make the thought more plausible.
6 Ohio State Buckeyes The top 6 is seemingly vastly separated between everyone else, and Ohio State continued that trend with a strong win over Indiana.
7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish I rose Notre Dame a few spots this week because their offense looked very competent last week, granted against a bad team. Notre Dame has their first real test which will tell us a lot about them this week. Additionally, this is probably Notre Dame's only chance to get a win big enough to help their playoff ambitions.
8 Auburn Tigers Auburn has a big, big test at A&M this week which should be a pivotal game for the middle of the SEC West. Mond versus potentially the best defense in FBS and Bo Nix against a solid Texas A&M will be fun to watch, but we will see if either rises to the challenge or if it ends up a defensive slugfest.
9 Michigan Wolverines
10 Utah Utes
11 Wisconsin Badgers
12 Florida Gators
13 Iowa Hawkeyes
14 Penn State Nittany Lions
15 UCF Knights

18 Texas A&M Aggies
