BigBoutros Ballot for 2019 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 16, 2019, 12:49 p.m.

Overall Rationale: As we all expected, the week that had zero ranked matchups provided some of the best drama we'll see all year.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Trevor Lawrence has looked weird all season, but this program can afford to run experimental and/or risky plays for him. Their schedule is one long CFP tuneup.
LSU Tigers The offense is producing game after game and that Texas road win looks just as good a week later.
Alabama Crimson Tide Some devastating defensive injuries have Alabama casting a nervous glance towards November 9. Maybe even October 12?
Oklahoma Sooners Jalen Hurts has 13 touchdowns and 12 incompletions on the year.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Seven perfect quarters after a weird start against Louisville. Ian Book is running the Brian Kelly offense flawlessly.
Ohio State Buckeyes Basically zero cracks in the B1G's clear frontrunner.
Georgia Bulldogs UGA will get its first chance to make a national splash against Notre Dame this week.
Penn State Nittany Lions Hideous game against Pitt, but still undefeated with a lethal defense.
Wisconsin Badgers Outscoring opponents 110-0 through two games. Taylor is as advertised, but Jack Coan's dominance through the air has Wisconsin thinking even bigger.
Utah Utes The leader in the Pac-12 clubhouse gets a boost to its resume with BYU's victory over USC.
Auburn Tigers Finally an accurate day for Bo Nix. Defense holding strong.
Washington State Cougars Fun game against Houston in what was essentially a road environment. Ceiling remains high.
Texas Longhorns Continues to look sharp despite home loss to LSU.
UCF Knights Dillon Gabriel looked like a disgusting beast against Stanford. His emergence raises UCF's ceiling even higher.
Florida Gators Lost Feleipe Franks for the season but secured a thrilling win over Kentucky behind Kyle Trask, the new starter.
Boise State Broncos Continues to take care of business behind freshman QB Hank Bachmeier, although their thrilling comeback against Florida State looks less impressive each week. Watch out for Air Force this week.
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa will use its bye week to relish in a close victory over ISU.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Nothing but garbage opponents so far. That's about to change.
Kansas State Wildcats Impressive road win over Mississippi State. Chris Kleiman is 3-0 and looking tough.
Virginia Cavaliers Thrilling home victory over Florida State has UVA in the Coastal driver's seat at 3-0 (2-0).
Arizona State Sun Devils Battle for Spar_y goes to the letter K for the second year in a row in one of the most thrilling games of the weekend.
Michigan Wolverines Arguably the nation's greatest mystery. Is Shea Patterson hurt or just mediocre? What happened to the Speed in Space? Is Army just that good? We'll find out a lot more this Saturday in Madison when Michigan plays at Wisconsin.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Something feels charmed about this Wake team, which should cruise to 4-0 this week against Elon before a pair of ACC gut checks against BC and Louisville.
Oregon Ducks After a crushing Week 1 defeat, Oregon has feasted on cupcakes. Their "real" season gets back to work this weekend at Stanford.
Washington Huskies Loss to Cal sapped momentum, but Washington took care of business against a legit Hawaii team.
