Overall Rationale: #26 - Texas A&M, #27 - Michigan State, #28 - Northwestern, #29 - South Carolina, #30 - USCTeams get lots of points for losing narrowly to undefeated teams, which explains why some teams such at GT or Iowa are ranked higher than you would expect. This is being exaggerated a bit now as teams start going 8-0 and 9-0. When the undefeated teams fall, so will the teams who they narrowly beat.

This was confusing to me as well, but when you look into it, a 2-point loss to Penn State is giving them lots of points, and the other losses are within one score, one to one loss Michigan State (who oddly is ranked 27th because they've narrowly won all their games) and an overtime loss to Northwestern (who is interestingly 28th, just one behind one loss Michigan State, mostly because they've played 2 undefeated teams).  |
