CarbonCamaroZL1 Ballot for 2017 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 23, 2017, 1:32 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Some teams move up, some move back. Just like every week. Less movements this week due to there being not a lot of losses within the top 25 except for top 25 matchups themselves. ----------Teams that are peaking in: Iowa State. Depending on how the Clemson vs. Georgia Tech and Iowa State vs. TCU games go this weekend, they may peak in or both could be out with someone else being in. It all just depends on the outcomes.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide 0 spots (previously 1). Bama continues to be one of the strongest teams in the NCAA, but due to their weak conference schedule, if Penn State beats Ohio State by more than a field goal or last second touchdown, I will move them to 1st place.
Penn State Nittany Lions 0 spots (previously 2). Penn State continues to prove that they are a Playoff ready team. A convincing win over Ohio State will definitely move them up to the #1 spot over a weak conference schedule, albeit, strong Playoff ready, Alabama team.
Georgia Bulldogs 0 spots (previously 3). These dawgs are still scary.
TCU Horned Frogs +1 spot (previously 5). TCU is a team that didn't convince me early on and wasn't all that impressive, but they have beaten ranked teams, demolished the little guys (Kansas) and just continue to impress.
Wisconsin Badgers -1 spot (previously 4). Wisconsin is that team who is very good, but hasn't proven themselves yet due to a weak conference play. TCU just looks better than them and more Playoff ready. However, if Wisconsin can win the B1G, that would mean beating PSU or whatever other team beats PSU, therefore making them Playoff capable.
Ohio State Buckeyes 0 spots (previously 6). Ohio State are another team who dominates the little guys, but have a seemingly weaker and weaker quality loss. Oklahoma is still a Top 10 team at the moment, but they aren't winning their games very impressively. A win over PSU would definitely shoot them up into Playoff contention.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +3 spots (previously 10). Notre Dame continue on their domination with only a now 3rd ranked loss to Georgia.
Oklahoma Sooners -1 spot (previously 7). Oklahoma haven't had many convincing wins, but they are still getting them with only one loss being a 26th ranked Iowa State and a win over a 6th ranked Ohio State. That being said, with their weak conference schedule so far they are going to need to get a bigger win this weekend to stay ahead of some tough competition closing in from behind.
Miami Hurricanes -1 spot (previously 8). Miami just beat a team that beat Clemson. However, they, much like Oklahoma, are winning conference games just barely. Notre Dame is dominating their teams with only a loss to 3rd ranked Georgia. Undefeated is a good sign though.
Clemson Tigers -1 spot (previously 9). Bye week.
Washington Huskies 0 spots (previously 11). Bye week.
Michigan State Spartans 0 spots (previously 12). Struggled at home against Indiana, thus doesn't move ahead of Washington. A sure fire win against Northwestern may allow for movement.
Virginia Tech Hokies +1 spot (previously 14). Virginia Tech still looks very good. But still not there quite yet to take the leap over Washington or MSU.
Washington State Cougars +1 spot (previously 15). Absolute destruction over Colorado. Despite one upset, this team still looks like one of the best teams in the PAC-12, albeit, a weak PAC-12.
Oklahoma State Cowboys +1 spot (previously 16). Not a great win over Texas, but they have kept many games close against good teams (Oklahoma, USC) and beat some other teams like Kansas State and Iowa State. The Big 12 is very confusing.
USF Bulls +2 spots (previously 18). Not a convincing win over Tulane, but a win nonetheless.
NC State Wolfpack +2 spots (previously 19). Good bye week, up two spots. Ready to face a top 10 Notre Dame.
UCF Knights +2 spots (previously 20). The debate was back in forth on putting them ahead of USF, but that would also require me to put NC State over USF as well so they will get a 2 spot gain for now and stay put.
Auburn Tigers +2 spots (previously 21). Moves up due to teams moving back plus a good win over Arkansas.
Michigan Wolverines -7 spots (previously 13). Definitely doesn't deserve to be unranked after losing to a #2 team away, however the offensive line still plagues the team. Time to fire our OC and Oline Coach. Bye bye Drevno and Pep.
West Virginia Mountaineers +1 spot (previously 22). A win is a win. Other teams have kept Baylor close in the Big 12 as well.
USC Trojans -5 spots (previously 17). Big loss against Notre Dame. Stays ahead of Stanford due to their win over them earlier in the season.
Stanford Cardinal 0 spots (previously 23). Bye week.
Memphis Tigers +0 spots (previously 24). 3 point victory over Houston. Stays put.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 0 spots (previously 25). Stays put with a decent win.
