Overall Rationale: The following link is a screenshot showing the next few teams out and some data about the teams in my poll: https://i.imgur.com/H5hhc2n.png. Teams move up and down each week based on how actual MOV compares to predicted MOV. MOV is capped at 35. The number is somewhat arbitrary but 5 TDs is my subjective judgment of the point where a greater MOV doesn't really tell us anything more about how good teams really are. There is a preseason component based on last year's final rankings, returning production, recruiting rankings, and coach rankings. At this point in the season, the poll is weighted so that 65% of the poll is generated starting from preseason rankings and 35% is starting from all teams being exactly equal. The preseason component will diminish as the season continues. I am happy to answer any further questions about the poll.
