Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | +1. Very impressive win against an SEC opponent with a supposedly stout defense.  |
| Clemson Tigers | +1. Unimpressive win over BC, but impressively has two ranked wins over Louisville and Auburn. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | -2. Extremely unimpressive win against winless Baylor. Still, they have a strong win over #11.  |
| USC Trojans | +2. Played a competent Cal team and came out on top. Not much difference between SC and Penn State, for me. USC gets the edge as it has played a stronger schedule so far.  |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | -0-. Played a tight game in Iowa under the voodoo magic. Barkley is a beast. He made up over half of PSU's total yardage and hurdled and beasted through tackles. Without Barkley, would have definitely lost that game. He is a game changer and my top pick of Heisman so far.  |
| Washington Huskies | +1. Really good win in a Pac12 championship rematch against Colorado.  |
| Michigan Wolverines | +1. Opened Big ten play with a road trip. First half was dicey, but once O'korn got situated, the offense was the smoothest I have seen it this year. Defense is still the king to this team's present and future success. |
| TCU Horned Frogs | +8. Impressive win against seemingly undefeatable Oklahoma State. TCU showed that it definitely does play defense and has a big 12 offense to match.  |
| Georgia Bulldogs | +2. Georgia completely dominated Mississippi State who had dominated LSU in similar fashion a week before. It brings a question if Mississippi State/LSU were even good to start with, both teams having only played other cupcakes, it's definitely hard to tell. However, Georgia's win at ND is seemingly more impressive as the weeks go on and one can't discount an absolute dismantling of an SEC foe. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | -1. BYE. Only fell because of TCU/Georgia's impressive wins. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | -1. Played high powered offensive game against UNLV. OSU seems like they are solving their offensive struggles. |
| Virginia Tech Hokies | |
| Miami Hurricanes | |
| Washington State Cougars | |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | |
| Florida Gators | |
| San Diego State Aztecs | |
| USF Bulls | |
| Auburn Tigers | |
| Utah Utes | |
| Louisville Cardinals | |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | |
| Duke Blue Devils | |
| NC State Wolfpack | |
| West Virginia Mountaineers |
